I'm in the same boat, I would prefer Morata. That is mostly because I've spent the past few seasons hating Costa though and don't really want to have to pull for him. He is pretty effective at what he does, you have to give him that much.

I don't think we should worry about being competitive in the CL right now. We should worry about being competitive in the EPL. If we get to the knockout stage of the CL next season, I'll consider it a win.

So which rumor is legit, Belotti or Morata? United would sign both would they? or would Morata slide out wide with Belotti up top , or vice versa?
Maybe just a case of who they can come to an agreement with first? I don't see both of them coming.

As far as Belotti vs Morata....if I remember reading right it seems like almost a 100% certainty that Belotti would be more expense with his 100M buyout....sounds like Morata may be in the range of 50 - 60M?
Chica was pure pace and a poacher in the box. Morata is more physical, more technical, more of a creator and has higher work rate defensively than Chica. They are completely different players.Dre_00 said:

Team made it official. Zlatan will not be resigned or offered a new contract. One and done.
He will still be at United to help him recover and I think there is a good chance he would sign in January after he is fully recovered.mathguy86 said:

Looks like Morata is done for 65 million quid. That is a **** load of cash.
He's probably the best realistic option available and it's not my money, so I'm down with it. At least it is less than the original 90M that was reported.
I'm seeing alot of recent buzz about Perisic and Lindelof too. Probably for too much money on both, but they both fit the Mourinho profile well and winger and CB were both need areas. Add a defensive CM too and I would call that a successful transfer window.

Victor Lindelof for 35m ? Would that slide Bailly out wide or does that move someone out? Don't know a lot about him other than he's young and that's a fair amount of cash when United have Smalling Bailly and Jones at center back
Smalling has regressed and Jones is always hurt, there is a need for a good cb this transfer window.
CB was a target from day 1. He'll be given a chance to pair with Bailly.
I don't know anything about him, but from what I have read he sounds a bit like Blind on steroids. He's good on the ball and good at starting the attack from the back. He's also good at reading the game and breaking up attacks, and is faster than Blind. Seems like an ideal partner for Bailly, except he prefers to operate at RCB where Bailly played last season. One of them will need to play LCB, but it sounds like 35M for him is a decent enough deal in this transfer market.
If his first season goes like Bailly's I'll be happy. 35 million isn't bad at all considering his age.

I really hope this happens. Outside of Griezmann he was my top choice this window. I think him taking up the defensive mid duties would allow Pogba and Herrera more freedom forward, which should help out the attack quite a bit. That would be a very well balanced midfield 3.
We've needed a good, strong defensive mid for a very long time. I agree with you. If he can come in and fill that role, he'll make everyone so much better.
