Great Story

Even though I don't have any sons who are athletes, I always take a mother's pride in all our players. I love them all. Aggie football players have given me lots of reason to be proud over all the years I've watched them. But I've especially loved Jaxson since he first stepped onto Kyle. He is a very special young man and his family should be very proud of him. I predict great things for him in the future, both in and out of football.

There are a lot of great stories about Jaxson. One of my favorite stories was when he playing soccer (7 or 8 years old) and he ended up on the bottom of a pile of kids. When he finally got up he ran around with his fist clenched for the rest of the half. They thought he was mad but when the half ended he ran over to his Mom and handed her his tooth that had gotten knocked out, so he could give it to the tooth fairy. He played high school ball at Friendswood, where he was an outstanding running back. Great kid, great parents, great story!!

Alot of people miss the fact that we have a very young D and Jaxson is back there being an onfield coach alot of times on D and on Special Teams.

I am very glad we have him and am proud that he represents Texas A&M the way it should be.

What an awesome thread!!!

I hope some people now realize just how widely this board is read and temper their comments a bit when they criticize our players.

There was a thread a couple of days ago about the "one player we couldn't do without besides Reggie" (or something to that effect). After being at the game on Saturday 6 rows from the field, I shutter to think about what our team, much less our defense, would look like without a leader like Jaxson on the field. Alot of the "studs" on the field were directed by Jaxson what they should do, and I was very impressed.

I've never met Jaxson Appel, nor do I know alot about him personally, but I've always liked and respected him. I'll never forget watching him play in the cast! I agree with the poster above, I think Jaxson will go down in Aggie lore with the likes of Bucky and Dat.....
