Beckville,Center, Tatum, Teneha, Timpson- guess Bussey didn't want to go, his Momma lived in Carthage I think. Some from Marshall, maybe Henderson. If your folks got a little money, can move to Carthage and commute to Longview- they had good baseball run few years back and folks flocked there. Maybe some kids from Louisiana.

Just finished watching 20 minute videos of must if the games on regular YouTube. Worth it if you could not see them live.

Also watched some of the semis. Did not know the Longview game ended like it did. Stinks for them.

Larry Hill is the 9th winningest coach in Texas HS Football history. He's 0-4 in championship games. Smithson Valley trying to hold on for his 1st title.

I'm very happy for Coach Hill! There are a couple of coaches that I had in middle school that are still on the staff. Which is a testament to the program he runs.

Angleton was SV's toughest matchup, a late score won it 21-14.

We moved to Smithson Valley ten years ago from Manvel. I love high school football, so have always bought season tickets. I was struck but the contrast in the two programs. Manvel had a lot of talent in those days (has been hurt since when the school was split). At one time, Manvel had more D1 players than anyone in the state, a number ending up at A&M. SV has had good players but very few superstars, just well coached and well-disciplined. It was great seeing them win today. I do not understand why colleges are not beating down the doors on Cade Spradling, QB and LB, He may not be SEC level but is going to be successful somewhere.

It did not recall until a comment during the game, that when Manvel played for State Championship in 2017, it was against Highland Park. Manvel lost 53-49. The game ended with a 30+ yard completion at the one-yard line to Jalen Preston (who played for A&M) as time expired. You can find videos of this game ending on-line, but I don't know how to post. Worth looking up for a heartbreaking ending.

The lack of state finalists and champions from the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and the Houston area this year is interesting and peculiar.

DFW has lost 3 games in a row. Austin is having their best showing in years with a chance to win another in the last game.

Yeah. Will be interesting to see if this year is just a one off. A lot of traditional heavyweights have gone down for sure.

North Crowley better save the day for the metroplex.

The first half of this game reminded me of the 1993 NFC Championnship between the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers.

San Francisco had an awesome team, and had just defeated the New York Giants 44-3 in the Divisional Round.
The Dallas Cowboys ran all over the 49ers in the 1st half of the game, and then held on in the 2nd half for the win.

Westlake is awesome, but speeds kills...... and North Crowley has a lot of it.

Spradling did pick up UTSA offer recently (i'd assume for defense)… kid is a gamer

We are SV.. was at the game today… great game.. the adjustments SV made throughout were super impressive
