This guy just skipped the portal altogetherl and changed schools. I guess the portal could become a thing of the past soon?

Dors that mean you can change schools any time you want? Like in the middle of a season if it's not going well? Play for two different teams in the same season?

Little bit different situation and extremely likely to go to the courts.

He asked for Wisconsin to enter his name into the portal and they refused so he just left on his own.

Why are we going after Penn State WR rejects so hard when we have previous highly hated recruits in the WR room in Isaiah and Ashton? You'd think at least one of them would develop and be ready to contribute. Ashton was getting some snaps to end the year.

Tease is the only young guy we lost.

I keep seeing people saying we need a DT and an experienced WR in the portal, which I totally agree with. But do any of yall know of any WRs or DTs left in the portal that are worth taking or that we're looking at? I'd figure it's pretty much a bunch of lower rated backups left at this point but I'm not sure.

Probably going to wait until the spring unless ND or OSU have someone we are waiting on.

Niblack is a nice pickup for our passing game but if the rumors are true of his inability to block it could limit his playing time here.

He may end up only neing a depth peice or he could be our main threat. None of us truly know. It's not like he isn't talented.

Well he was good enough to play 28 snaps a game at Bama and finish 5th in the sec in receiving for TEs in 2023 as a RFR. But that's nitpicking. Whoever bama's coach in 2023 was probably wasn't that good.

Fact is, Helm was one of the top TEs in the country last year. This guy wasn't as good. No one is trying to claim we got Gunnar Helm. But he still proved to be a good pass catcher in the sec.

Short of Max Klare, I'm just not sure what you guys expect sometimes out of the portal. He's probably the 2nd or 3rd most proven receiving TE in the portal, albeit more from 2023 than last year.

Agree. Zero, I mean absolutely zero positions should be final until fall camp. If you can upgrade at any time, at any position, do it. Will feelings be hurt? Maybe. But that's what the game has turned into, and the players don't seem to mind when they are on the good side of the message/NIL. Gone are the days about HS recruiting reputations being required. It's a nice to have. Not a must have.

It's not so much about hurting feelings. No one is concerned with that.

It's literally about total overall money and trying to amplify what you have to spend.

Now, if you can't upgrade DT or WR in the spring window which is the current plan, and also refuse to use the money for OL, that would be a mistake. You just left money on the table.

But again, if your options are to go from (lets put this in video game perspective) a 90 to a 92 on the OL, but it costs us the money it would take that could take our starting Z WR from a 81 to a 92, that's not worth it. It's all a balance. If we are going to spend big, it's going to be saved for DT and WR in the spring window.

The only real question/concern will be overall quality in that window. We better be tampering behind the scenes with the best of them to get some quality guys to enter.
