Issue is getting them here first or at least still come for their visit. There has been a couple who have been persuaded to go elsewhere first and change their plans / timing on the A&M visit (portal seems to work best for those 1st time visitors to get in their ears first to sell the vision and payment plan to get there).

Ol Piss is chasing DL/DE (and just landed the LSU DE guy who I wish we got to come talk and they want Prince U from Neb too and a couple others).

We feel good about ARA coming back, but nothing is official. Zuhn graded out as the 4th best OT in the sec. 2nd straight year he was one of the better OTs, despite the flak he takes on message boards. He's really good. And yes, I watched the texas game He may move to guard in the NFL, but I have high doubts it would be here.

We have 20 outgoing. Arkansas has 27. Kentucky has 20. Miss State has 24. LSU has 18 and could end up past us.

But the biggest key is the quality. Some are too focused on quantity and it makes no sense to me. Whether some believe it or not, out of the 20 guys we have in the portal, I think we really only would fight to keep 1-2 of them. Maybe. Even that isn't a guarantee. We may be okay with all of them.

We are around 77 right now and likely want to take 10-12 portal guys. So we actually need to lose even more to do what this staff wants to do. I see us being closer to 24-26 when all is said and done.

People need to understand it's more than just outgoing portal guys. It's total outgoing players. We only have about 10 guys exhausting eligibility. We have about 2-3 NFL guys coming out early. We had 81 during the season and added a couple walk ons. Simple math said we only had about 15 spots before the portal. We wanted to take a full 25 HS guys and about 10 portal guys to help overturn the roster. Simple math says we had to have 20+ transfer out to do that.

Some people have been saying that we are getting the Tech WR and the Nic Anderson guy. Also people are saying that the Misisipi guy and the KC guy have very good chances of coming here is that true?

If we get 3 of those 4 elite WR and then we are just like 3 DL people from being a great transfer portal period

Siap, but three of the top 10 interior offensive lineman are from Arky. Two of them are four stars.

We are the favorites to land Hudson even though he didn't commit immediately, or at least make it known.

Concepcion had an issue come up and wasn't able to make the trip but we are still in good standing with him.

Anderson is supposed to be on campus either today or over the weekend

We have heard Hudson and Anderson news.

We have one, and we were never even considering going portal.

Whether it proves to be right or wrong is up for another debate. But it was never in the cards this portal. Short of an elite one falling into our laps and begging us to come.

Anderson would be a big pick-up. Hopefully his quad finally healed up well. Let's do it.

Did Anderson visit or visitng?

Keep seeing he's down to LSU (all WRs like LSU ability to put WR into NFL), MS St (Lebby recruited him orig) and Oregon (as he was once committed to them and likes their staff).

On KC, Bama got him to visit there first and hope he does test his options (Bama neighbor thinks it's a done deal via their 'recruiting' sites and we won't get a visit, but I'm not going to go wade thru that...I'll let vander as that's his specialty).

DEs are intriguing, but super high competition for Prince U (hot commodity) and Purdue kid. Both have being offered by everyone and then some, but hopefully Prince U and Heldt (sp) keep visits (LSU chasing both of them and Ol Piss trying to add Prince U to go with Womack (sp).

So we probably aren't getting Anderson or KC and we will probably just end up with the Mississippi guy and Hudson.

As long as Concepcion doesn't commit before we get our visit then we have a decent shot. He eas supposed to be here right after Bama but wasn't able to make it. It's obviously not ideal but they were working on setting up another visit last I heard.

I don't know on Anderson, but Beerad12mann and Vander you can follow along will prob let you know. I just have acq / coworkers / neighbors who are alumns at other SEC schools and always interesting in their intel vs ours (last yr, they were correct on most of their pickups and who we missed on; assuming Elko/staff has a better grasp/time involved this cycle and will help land a few higher echelon players vs. mid-tier).

Sports Illustrated said that Anderson and the Mario guy are visiting soon together. They also said that KC was supposed to visit on Tuesday and Wednesday. So I don't know what happened. I also haven't heard a ton of news about Hudson lately are we losing him too.

I heard a rumor that bama was the reason for the no show for Concepcion

If so he would have probably committed already. I heard it was something out of his control.

Good news if he's here...hope we can persuade him to shut it down if it goes well.

LSU pushing hard for him according to several services and articles. Keep hearing he's a top priority for them.
