Unbelievable, no but this day and age would be very hard to pull off unless there is a level of corruption that is involving many many people. I think it's improbable. Not necessarily impossible. So the logic is that the refs or the league is actually being paid in favor of Texas? That's the statement you're making.
Don't you think it would be pretty easy to find out if bribes are going to these referees?

I personally have worked with and employed tu grads. As a culture they always complain and become nuisances when they don't get what they want. I would almost say that at times it becomes bullying.
I don't think it is outright bribery but the refs have a deep understanding of the repercussions professionally and socially if they do something really unpopular with the sip fanbase.
I also know from experience, they for the most part don't forgive or ever forget. With anything.
I for one was not surprised at all about the bottles on the field
