FSU brain-trust should have OU & TU on the phone to help navigate the approaching minefield.

This is going to be fun and nasty.
Neither the SEC or B1G really wants FSU, but neither wants the other to have them.
Thoughts that B1G has an open pocketbook are asinine-they've already been stretched to the max.
UNC is the real prize here. What's going to be fun to watch is how quickly schools get in the boat.
(They're going to be quiet, and let FSU do the dirty work acting like petulant children).
Even beyond Jimbo, FSU is sooooooo our spirit animal in so many ways…
I more meant that there is a prevailing thought that Fox is just gonna kick in another $70M every time a new team pops up.Quote:
I wouldn't say the B10 budget is stretched to the max. A better way to put it is that teams like Indiana and Purdue are not going to take one penny less of their media rights to add FSU, and who can blame them.
This is new information. Per FSU, ESPN is not guaranteed to pay ACC members revenue past 2027, but the ACC schools are locked into a grant of rights that runs through 2036. https://t.co/0ezj1Xjc2l

Reading Florida State's 38-page filing against the ACC.

A highlight:
FSU using @ChrisVannini's power rankings to say the ACC should have added Oregon State from the Pac-12 and not Cal/Stanford, who lack "in the lone metric that matters in the athletic conference market today." pic.twitter.com/5XXbABgHfM
How?Quote:
If they go to the B1G the SEC is ****ed long term

17 ACC conference games have drawn over 5 million TV viewers since 2012. FSU has played in 12 of them. That's what FSU represents for the ACC's TV value. pic.twitter.com/TwUSb4l4Xj

I don't know where you get your info, and I don't have anything to back mine, but UNC is in a pretty big media market.BMX Bandit said:
why you see UNC as the prize? They aren't really a big TV draw, which to me is the biggest thing going forward.
when the SEC and B16 "big boys" break off, I don't see UNC in that upper group
To Nicole: So FSU made a bad deal. And?Panama Red said:

This could not be more FALSE.Quote:
The mouse did not rework the conference media deal when tu & ou snuck in. The rest of the conference members will be receiving less in media rights payouts to accommodate the interlopers.
The part that is false is that it impinged current members revenue. The part that is true is there is no additional money for adding two traditional helmet schools in the upcoming contract.20ag07 said:This could not be more FALSE.Quote:

They didn't agree to an increased payout per school if we went to 9 conference games.20ag07 said:This could not be more FALSE.Quote:

agreed.20ag07 said:Yet.Quote:

But there is nothing true at all about saying anyone is getting less of a payout because of Texas/OU.

agree for the most part, but nothing about VT says "prize"
the prizes are FSU and Clemson, then Miami.
doesn't meant Vt won't find a home, but no one is going to be fighting to get them like clemson and fsu

We don't exactly know how much terminating the LHN cost ESPN in termination fees to Texas that might have funded part of their early exist from the Big 12. So we don't know how much more ESPN has to pay Texas than we have to pay Jimbo.
