I'm not sure if there is an extant FSU v. ACC thread for all the dueling lawsuits, so I'm slapping this here. Unsurprisingly the home town courts ruled they had jurisdiction, and there are appeals in North Carolina and Florida.

The N.C. Court stayed the underlying suit while FSU's appeal works its way to the N.C. Supreme Court.

Today a Tallahassee judge declined to return the favor.

. . .
In an online hearing on the conference's motion to dismiss pending appellate review, Circuit Judge John C. Cooper denied the ACC's motion. That allows proceedings in Leon County to continue while awaiting a ruling from Florida's 1st District Court of Appeal on the conference's cases.

The ACC argued that the case should be stayed, or paused, as the court awaits a ruling from the district court. The argument centered around both the North Carolina cases and the Florida cases being on the same timeline, with the conference's counsel arguing one case going ahead of another could cause harm.
. . .
On the FSU247 board they had what amounted to a game thread for the hearing, and it was reported that the Judge said he'd have his ruling within 10 minutes of the hearing, probably to account for the other words that were going to accompany "Denied".

House is apparently settling this month. College sports are in for a major shakeup. Not just football
College sports just had a major shakeup. To the degree they aren't even college sports now.

The shake up you were talking about pales in comparison to what is coming.

I and others knew things like this were coming from Day 1, including players associations / unions and other things unimaginable 10 years ago. What most of us were wrong about is how fast it would happen, we grossly underestimated that.

My posting history reflects this, but I'm not going to expend the effort to drag all that up because my give a damn is broke. As a fan of formerly pure college football that's now a business, they can pay my appearance fee or I will not be appearing.

I said back in 2015 that t.u would end up in the SEC
"But there's an agreement" i was told
I said it several times over the years

I put a little effort into finding an appropriate thread for the FSU/ACC lawsuit post, and you drop an "I told you so" about Texas and the SEC on it?
