FSU got unlucky that bama beat Georgia. I don't think Texas gets in if that didn't happen... Once Georgia lost, they figured out a way to get an sec team in there... That required adding Texas too, since they best bama.

This is actually a problem for the committee. Legally the Pac12 still exists and they could invite any crap 10 teams to join and still be considered "P5" because that's what's written in the contracts for the CFP. It's why any mergers that occur will almost certainly keep the Pac12 name.

Comparing what happened to A&M in 2020 to what just happened to FSU is insane. We had a good 2020. I never understood why we felt we deserved to be in more than Notre Dame.

Alabama is the one that knocked FSU out. Be reasonable. Putting Alabama in would have been ridiculous given they lost the head to head game.

I'm not talking about spot number 12. I'm saying that if a playoff committee can disqualify a team because they " think" a team can't perform up to their standards because a particular player is hurt…. Then the system is flawed deeply….. no matter if there is 12 spots or 20.
They should not be able to decide that.

They have a better SOR than Texas, their win this week was better than Texas's, and they were ranked above Texas last week. They're the first team to be dropped out of the top 4 rankings in the last week for winning.

Texas beat Bama H2H. Both teams were conference champions. Both were 12-1. Any other metric is irrelevant.
Any objective look puts Bama above Texas. H2H only counts so much.
If head to head only matters so much, then why do we use head to head match ups to determine the national champion?
H2H should never be the sole deciding factor in playoff and seeding selections.

Besides messing up who is in and out.
They will protect their favorites with bracket positioning. Give certain teams better match ups, give certain teams home games, ensure certain teams are on the road.

This entire ordeal has made it crystal clear what many already thought. The whole entire thing is fake.
It really is simple. Article 3 of the committees guidelines calls for consideration if predominant players are injured.The FSU quarterback was their best player therefore they are definitely not the same team.
How easy to figure out. They picked the teams who they thought were the best now.

For the players' safety, let's just run models based on talent at the beginning of the season to determine game winners and the ultimate champion, and then have computer simulated games played on the big screens in the stadiums.
