Based on what I've heard from LSU circles, they don't care about not playing A&M on Thanksgiving weekend. Apparently, they're content with going back to playing Arkansas.

Let's face it. Most Aggies have to deal with more neighbors, coworkers or high school classmates who went to UT than LSU. UT was, is and will always be A&M's true rival. They have to play on rivalry weekend.

It will have to be on Black Friday or Saturday though. With the NFL now playing on Thanksgiving night, it is impossible for an in-state college rivalry to get a decent national TV rating.

No they don't. A&M could play Texas some other time in the season while keeping a big game against LSU for Thanksgiving weekend. Unfortunately, too many Aggies can't help themselves and long "for the good old days", so the Texas game will most likely be at the end of the season. A&M could make a point that things are not as they used to be by pushing to keep the LSU game on Thanksgiving weekend. Texas always claims OU is their "real rival". Fine, if that's how they feel then A&M should stick with LSU on rivalry weekend.
