The vote will be unanimous in the end. Bama and Disney will get everyone on board.

Not happening.

A&M, Mizzou, and Arkansas are hard no's.

Florida, UK, SCar, and Vandy are going to be no's so that they don't have to play Bama and Auburn every year.

100% it will not be a unanimous yes vote.

This will be decided by money. Not feelings. Not politics. Not by who can gain what recruiting advantages. The vote will be yes or no from everyone based on how much the yearly revenue will go up or not. Its business.

That makes no sense. Arkie would love it. They have wanted to play UT every year. They will be hugely in favor. And they want the extra $$$.

Mizzou won't dare cross Sankey. They also aren't turning down extra $$$. And they won't block a deal that would bring a ton of extra $$$ to everyone walks in the conference.

And we will go along. It would be highly embarrassing to be on the losing end of a 13-1 vote.

You are obviously not clued in, MIZZOU has already said they are a NO.

Won't happen until Google/Apple/Netflix are bidding for TV rights. There isn't more money Disney can put on the table for what they already own.

This is a move to try to get a bidding war started.

So where is this supposed extra money (~90M) coming from?

Yep. Disney will make sure fhe $$$ are huge. They won't risk the Big Ten and Fox landing OU and UT.

This is already a done deal.

Only one of those has any CC hopes(Florida) and with 12 playoff slots a quality SEC schedule outweighs a loss.

again, not happening until real monied parties come to the table. Google/Apple/Netflix. Disney/fox/cnn/whatever are 40 something strippers that moonlight as hookers that have been rode hard and hung up wet and have nothing more to offer.

Maybe Texas will be a better neighbor in the SEC than they were in the big 12. One would hope anyway. MSU has to split a population of roughly 3 mil with ole miss and we can still be competitive Texas A&M would have to split roughing 30 mil with Texas? I was a firm no at first but am starting to come around to this.

Really don't think this is a good read on the situation. The sips are stuck with the kids in Texas and OU has no way of going anywhere without OSU.

they've destroyed two conferences chasing any advantage they can find in their favor.

You don't want anything to do with them.

They've already blown up two conferences. The sips are nobody's friend. They are a snake in the grass and should never be trusted. If yiu want a small clue about them read Dr Loftin's 100 year decision. Or watch the Texags documentary about it.

As disappointing as this is, I agree that it is probably a done deal But the other schools in the SEC would do well to listen to those that have had to deal with TU in the past. You may think you're marrying a nice pretty rich girl, but she will turn out to be a manipulative *****.

Also, SEC seems to be a league of equals, and it's surprising that tu really wants in. Just my 2 cents.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
The only way this works for money is for OU/Sips and ESPN

For the SEC it cements the 16 super conference with 2 "blue blood" additions. It might mean a rework of our ESPN contract but I doubt it.

Arkansas isn't saying yes, not when they're just about to climb out of the hole they got themselves in by letting us in.

I don't think it's a done deal, but it's not an outright set in stone no just yet either.

Lol they're not going to have any CCG hopes if they add Auburn and Bama to their schedule every year. You're just assuming they're going to say "screw it, let's add 2 more losses to our schedule every year."

You're risking the addition of adding acc schools on the east coast (Clemson - which South Car doesn't want in the SEC and FSU which UF won't want added)

A&M..HELL NO.
Arkansas..no
Mizzou..no
LSU...no
Miss. St...no.
Ole Miss...no
Nick Saban...no
Auburn...no
Georgia...no
Florida...no
South Carolina...no
Vanderbilt...abstain
Kentucky...no
Sooooo....that pretty much takes care of it.
If you need an explanation as to why these schools would vote this way then you haven't studied the politics of SEC future expansion that have been discussed for years on this board.
You are also discounting the influence of Nick Saban and other SEC coaches who already enjoy a significant and heavy footprint in Texas recruiting. The whorns and blow u joining do not help improve the Texas recruiting scene for any SEC teams.
And the threat of retaliatory additions in the East that are particularly unsavory.

With 16 teams, the schedule will have to go to the 4 pod system, so east schools won't be saddled the way you are saying.
