The tu team that beat Georgia lost 8 defensive players and their best receiver.

LSU gained their best player back from injury and lost hardly anyone. I'm just not seeing how tu is going to hang with LSU. You don't lose 8 starters and pick up where you left off. Just my opinion.
Those 8 guys on defense you mention led Texas to being ranked 94th in total defense last year. If you go by points allowed they were ranked 57th. Prevailing theory is because of improved recruiting the players coming in filling those spots are better, albeit lacking some experience.

At least the whorns don't start with Maryland. They would be 0-2 going into Week 3 and resident sip zoo members would be stifling back tears.

The defense of the tu football program on this board and by Aggies is both bewildering and silly.
It's not defending the tu football program - it's being realistic about the world. Kind of a big difference.

It's a defense. No need to hide behind "realism." They were 10-4 and people are acting like they are right behind Bama and Clemson.
You have some serious slant to your reading if you get that. I've seen comments that LSU is a late season team and that there is every bit as good a chance that tu wins the game as LSU.

Please point out the "tu is as good as Bama and Clemson" comments, for our edification.

LSU is currently favored by 3 to 3 1/2 points depending on which sportsbook you use.

LSU has a top 5 defense this year.

Good running attack (don't believe they won't run if they sense there is a weakness at LB for tu despite "switching" to a pass happy offense).

Joe Burrow is a good QB that could have a career game on the ground in this one.

Ehlinger has been reported as not improving in his downfield attack this fall camp. So, he'll likely be trying to run against the best set of linebackers he's faced yet and the best DC he's faced yet.

There's a possibility tu will be playing with two true freshmen converted WR-to-RBs.

I like LSU in this one.

Do you have a problem recalling things? Or are you not able to disseminate reality from embellishment? Or too lazy to actually research and post exact quotations...?

To me LSU is a good proxy for the Aggies...

If LSU beats the snot out of Texas it would be a pretty good indication of what would happen
if The Rivalry ever came back...

Thoughts??
Remember tu vs Georgia? If Georgia beats the snot out of us this year (and tu beat Georgia last season) will that have any indication if the rivalry resumes?

I think not.

I predict that LSU will score a late touchdown to take the lead by 2 and kittens puts whorns down no where near a whorn player and because rule is left to ref discretion a flag is thrown. tu gets good field position and kicks the winning field goal. I also predict tu will not be flagged for obvious targeting hits.

"Far superior"...you're embellishment here is worse than other boards. Jarret Stidham is with the Pats BTW.

Keep trying...

I think that was OkLite's 3rd string QB also.

LSU knows Georgia got caught sleeping against tu, LSU will be up for this game and win by 13.
Texas returns like 8-9 starters. I just can't see tu winning, no matter how I look at it.
My money is on SEC.

Thats all well and good, but your claim doesn't hold a lot of water comparatively. LSU is athletic from top to bottom. They have no holes and their team is seasoned from playing big boy football. Their QB is just as good as Corky and they have a decent DC.

If you know anything about football, which I'm beginning to question. tu doesnt match up in the trenches with LSU and that's where the biggest difference is. Apples to oranges. LSU plays big boy football against NFL talent almost every week in the SEC. So did Georgia in regular season. But the bowl game was bogus as hell. I know it, you know it and everyone in the country that knows anything about football knows it. Except our limp wristed comrades to the west. If LSU turns the ball over 6 times I can see LSU losing by about 6 pts, but that's it. Defense wins championships and thats exactly why the BDF cant compete and get run out of the stadium in the playoffs.

Corky wont be able to just throw the ball towards a receiver and expect the refs to bail him out. The real DBU is coming to town. Then we'll see. I'm not a big fan of LSU, but I aint talking about being a fan, What I'm sayin is from a football standpoint tu is gonna get hammered and hammered often and I base that on what I see from both teams, what each lost and how they scheme out against each other. I dont know what you base your assumption that tu is all that but I'd like to hear your analysis. They aint that good. And Herman aint all that as a coach either.

Barely beat Tulsa, kansas, kansas State......beat a Georgia team that didn't want to play. That's Kirby not having his team motivated to play and a disgrace. Ed O will have the tigas ready . Too physical for tu. Titty bar Tom better start kissing early cause the whorns will be sore after this one. Not SEC ready.

Sammy is going to get his bell rung. Again, as you stated, they have no high profile RBs...even the Horn radio station was stating this week pretty much KIngram and nothing.

But they do have 10 WRs and 15 DBs....

Doesn't tu have a five star freshman RB that enrolled in the spring?

That said, LSU's defense is too much (i.e. better than who they are defending at every position) and may shut them out.
