Fort Shiloh closed in June of '95. I remember because I was hired there 3 months before. Best fajitas I've ever had. But they were in the red 9 months of the year until football season. I don't think it helped that it was right next to the cemetery.
My brother and I worked at the Fort Shiloh in 1983. Great food, but housed in a dirty, old building. Somehow passed food inspectors.

Closed according to Yelp.

I grew up around the corner from it. It always seemed like the parking lot was never even half full except on Sundays. It rebranded as Ken Martin's Safari Grille, but didn't seem to change the number of patrons.

My Dad worked at 3-C in High School...it was his first real job...he worked with some really great people and made some lifelong friends. My Grandparents would go in there at least 2x a week and basically adopted 1/2 the waitstaff. When many of them gvraduated from A&M and moved on they bought them a tree to plant in their yard. They lived in the Oaks behind Bryan High and if you go by their old house, that tree is now about 50' tall...great memories for him.

Was just in College Station this weekend for son's soccer tournament.

Glad Mad Taco wasn't there when I was a student. Had the Mad Breakfast taco's. F'ing awesome; would have gone broke buying $4 tacos.

Mom's. Ate there many times from 76-80. Great home cooked food. I was recently thinking about that place. sure miss those days.

Mom's was up to $1 when I was there but still honor system (fishbowl as I recall). Doubt any Aggies ever stiffed her. Wermans was great for CFS. Also Casa Chalutepec had an Aggie Special on the menu for $1. Also gave free queso and chips instead of chips and salsa.

Mom's was great, the Zarapes in College Station had great Tex-Mex, Youngblood's had the Best Fried Chicken any where, Werman's in Bryan had wonderful Chicken Fried Steak and the East Gate Lounge had the Coldest Beer and Best Homemade Chili!! All are gone now but it was a great area for good food in the early '60's. The food in Duncan was very good also!! Lots of great memories!!

Mom's was in Bryan, as stated, in a residential neighborhood. I remember $1 in 1967. A bargain, even then.

Werman's had two 6" CFS for $1 or 3 for $1.25. Boy, were they good!

I had just arrived in College Station in June of 1967 to start my fish year, in summer school. I was already feeling homesick, realizing I didn't know anyone in a 250 mile radius. After saying goodbye to my parents, in the parking lot of Dorm 18. I walked up to my room and met my roommate. He said "Howdy! Fish Harvey is my name. Let's go eat some Mexican food! We went to Zarrape's and I thought "This is going to be alright!". That lead to a life long friendship.

I have to disagree. J Cody's and even C&J's are much better than those 3 were. The BBQ at Tom's was extremely overrated although it was cheap. Pops was good, but not as good as J Cody's and C&J's.

I live in Houston now and have been to the Brisket House a half dozen times. Way better than Tom's was and the place feels like a little slice of Aggieland in Houston.

Martin's has stood the test of time.

While places like:

Youngbloods
Fort Shiloh
Los Norts

Have closed, Martins is still owned by the same family and still serving BBQ as they have for over 80 years.

Black Forest Inn finally mentioned.

Unfortunately burned down in the early 90's. Many Aggies got engaged there. Now it is just a slab of concrete in the pines on 30.
