I think the posters who post condescending skepticism in a thinly veiled attempt to manage their own expectations are kinda cute.
It's gone from welcome to aggieland Steve spurrier, expect an announcement during the sec cg or during the playoff announcement to steal some publicity............lol, to there's a delay and No one knows why.
I'm not saying he's a bad hire, I think he'd be great for at least a little while but this is the only place this is being discussed.

Just one point. Everyone is interested in a young, innovative coach. Why do you have to be young? Someone like Chavis or Spurrier was coaching before Spav was even born. Don't you think that experience might be useful? Why do you have to be innovative? If what you are doing works, stick with that. A truly sound offensive philosophy can be successful with minor tweaks.

I don't know what to think about all this. The most curious thing to me about Rojo's claims is TexAgs staff has never once objected to any of it. That alone keeps my skepticism from totally ignoring this.
Best coach available can develop qb s and a hell of play caller with talent . Check both boxes i am good with it .
If true, is this a move Sumlin wants to make or being 'influenced' by Hyman to make?

Because he wants to get back to actually coaching up kids and scheming for opponents.
Spurrier can coach QBs and design an offense all the while calling plays that really doesn't leave much need for Spavital.
South Carolina had issues with their OLine as well the past few seasons. Who's gonna fix our O Line? I find it interesting Billy and Hinter have both said Firing Spav doesn't fix all our problems. In that same vein, hiring Spurrier doesn't either.

If this is true, then hurry the **** up and get it done. What the hell is Sumlin waiting for? Every damn day he waits, is another day our recruiting will suffer. It's not like Chavis, where he had contractual reasons to wait. Plus, every day he waits, is another day our team can't use the extra month of practice for him to work with our team. Just. Get. It. Done. Already.

Last time I looked Spav was young. Might be time to try experienced which may result in someone being old.
Ronald Reagan was old and he did a lot better than the current one who's 'young'. BTW young and dumb covers a lot of those who are legends in their own mind.

I understand what you're saying. The thing is that hasn't been their MO. Lots of people have started "Spavital is out as OC" threads and TexAgs always edits them to say "speculation". They've never done that with Rojo. It makes me think they have some faith/belief in Rojo too.
