I'm guessing we delayed it until Spav can line up a job. As long as it happens before the bowl I don't think there will be an issue with recruiting or anything.

Getting an opportunity to learn under Spurrier would be a huge boost for Spav's career. He's a young guy and has time to move up the ranks. Being a position coach under Spurrier would be a great resume enhancer. Add to that the fact he just isn't ready and could use the experience before ruining his reputation.
Overall I think I like Spav. He seems to relate to the players well, he recruits well... I just don't like him as the OC right now. If Spurrier is the guy, he won't be long term at his age. Spav could use that time and eventually take over and be in a better situation, or he could bide his time and jump ship to another OC spot or maybe leapfrog to HC somewhere.

I was ready to believe before, but now I'll believe it when I see it reported elsewhere. As it is, there's an equal chance it could be true, he could be trolling us, or he could be telling what he thinks is the truth but is an effort from the coaching staff to find where the leak is.
He already resigned. Why would it matter?

Sumlin wouldn't divulge a confidential contract discussion with high school kids. Allegedly Daylan Mack decommitted because we wouldn't tell him who the DC would be until it was official. If he wouldn't tell Mack, even after Snyder was gone, I doubt he'd tell any current recruit about an OC that wasn't officially announced yet.

If Sumlin is loyal to Spav (which I believe) then what Rojo says makes sense. Spav will leave and the announcement should follow shortly thereafter, but I'm sure there has been a deadline set. Spurrier will need to get into the facilities and assist with the recruitment process.
