I will say this. The "huge" games are so ****ing annoying when all these start-up dumb app ideas, photo charging folks, bank morons, and every merchandiser available continuously annoys the **** out of you at tailgate with trying to sign up for something, give you ugly neon sunglasses or banners, etc.

I get it. 200k, in a confined area, go spread the word...but the Bama game was such overkill with those folks.

As for the in-stadium stuff, meh. Whatever. Gameday production has already been ruined at every stadium across the country. At least the A&M brass sort of met us halfway when we all *****ed about 4 years ago when every stop in play was a commercial, honoring someone, etc. Now it's just 90% of the time.

I don't even care what this sign actually says. I'm sure it's pro A&M and that's great. I'm not going to throw a fit about the campaign being "vague" since it's brand new and it's in "raise awareness" mode of fundraising.

I just find it silly that they wont just say "HERE'S what it'll look like. How awesome would it be if we could all come together and do this?"

and instead say "how about a little surprise?"

Oh, it's not going to be a disaster. People are just being so dramatic over something so silly. It's not even worth the energy to argue over this. It will be a simple stunt. It'll happen, everyone will survive and the Aggies will take the field for the 2nd half. Stop trying to look for controversy.

It will be of much more importance to see how they give us more specific information about this initiative with it now on the minds of all Aggies.

could be pretty bad if its, say 50%, participation. Aggies are good about brow beating people who don't fall into group think, though. Should be a rousing success.

I would say if anything is worrying about the new president its that he thinks running a capital campaign for no stated purpose is a stellar idea.

Whoever doesn't want to hold a card - bring their own card with your ideas for societal change. It'd be a good idea to use as few words as possible or if you can use a symbol or shape that best encapsulates your idea. Then, when it's time to display the cards, show the world what a diverse student body and alumni we have with so many great ideas. It'd be a shame to ruin the stunt by not holding up a card and just standing there like a dummy.

Honestly, I'm more concerned about the one man index card stunt on the sideline than I am the 105k card stunt in the stands.

Yeah I'm going to go with I don't believe in blindly supporting causes I'm not very well aware of. At least when some slimy telemarketer calls me I know what he's trying to sell me. You won't even tell me what you're trying to sell. Just telling me to flip my card because I should trust you. Because it's allegedly pro-A&M and therefore it must be good for me as well.

Have it on good authority that the card stunt is going to cost north of 100K. The past two days they have been putting the cards everywhere except the student side to not have them walk away during Midnight Yell.
