What kind of 'Great Leader' expects people to blindly follow?

quote:We no longer have a journalism school. I'm not too keen on our marketing programs either, at the moment.
A&M leadership comes up with the dumbest ideas, some of which are actually put into action. 12 empty seats, "The House That Johnny Built", hideous concrete War on Terror monument, frightening saw 'em off statue and the surrounding sundry zombie statues, card stunt with cliched slogans devoid of meaning. It's a constant barrage of stupid. I don't feel like other schools deal with this to the degree we do.
quote:You forgot "approach campus building design as if the planned intent was to make the main campus a museum to history's worst architectural ideas."

Yeah, not participating. We're supposed to blindly support the 'message'?
He was pretty direct that this is going to be a pro-A&M message to get the word out about the new capital campaign. You've got to leave part of it a surprise to give people something to look forward to and try to inject some excitement. It's hype. If it's all drawn out, then it loses a lot of the appeal... You know what a book is about. Do you want to know exactly how the story is going to end? No?
This is just a fun little promotion. Of course, for all of you never-happy "angry ags" that are incapable of excitement, it's yet another thing that you can complain about. I feel sad that you are incapable of enjoying yourself...
what is Pro-A&M for one person does not make it, simply, Pro A&M. Unless you know the specifics on the campaign which have not been made public, how can you claim that they this campaign, and any awareness, are Pro A&M?
And come on, The Foundation isn't going to do something to embarrass or alienate donors as they kick off a capital campaign.
I expect this to come and go without incident. It will probably even be underwhelming for you with all of the controversy you've attached to it. It's a non-issue. Just like the last "crisis" that TexAgs cried about.
quote:Maybe A&M should get into the whole life insurance business. Every graduate has a life insurance policy that pays A&M $10,000 when they die. Only a few dollars per month.
$4B!?
We're only talking about $10000 per person amongst the remaining living base of 436,000 former students. Granted, a lot of that sum is paid by a small portion of wealthy donors. For that kind of investment, you need to understand what returns you should expect.

It does seem to be shady that the plan for the money is to address world problems while spending lots of money on this piss poor marketing campaign.
I would bet this may get a few seconds coming back from the break on TV (on the SEC network going up against LSU vs BAMA). Then it will show up in Aggie Twitter and Facebook feeds.
That is it. Lots of money spent for very little exposure. Poorly thought out and does little to inspire giving.
quote:Ags are some of the most generous, giving people on this planet. Ags ALWAYS step up to support people in need -- food drive, South Carolina, 911, wild fire relief, etc, etc, etc. There has never been a need for stunts and gimicks.

I honestly thought that was joke/troll due to the awful typography.
