Moore: You are correct. I would still put it closer to Kyle Field and have the short story of how he came to write the Aggie War Hymn.

War Hymn Aggie, Great work! My uncle was Burnet County Agent back in the 50's and 60's and he, my aunt and cousins, Miles & Bill, lived about a block from Pinky on Pierce St. You are most likely too young to remember them as they moved in they early 70's when my uncle passed. I think my aunt and uncle are buried in the same Burnet Cemetarty as Pinky. Both of my cousins went to A&M as did my brother & I in the late 60's and early 70's. Again great work and the singing the Aggie War Hymn will bring back these memories of yours and thoughts of Pinky. It is also fitting to have you share this prior to and during the Memorial Day weekend. Our fallen heroes have done much for this great country!!!

Only in TexAgs. You never know what you will find in these threads. Good bull. Pinky was still on campus and active in the early 60's as the official "Greeter" for A&M. More known as a character and author of the War Hymn but this story was not widely known . Thanks for posting.
