This situation is starting to remind me of the Floyd Raven signing day fiasco.

Sometimes, a family who hasn't made good strategic decisions for generations finds itself in stewardship of a valuable asset. They are NOT equipped to maximize that asset. Instead, they sit in their trailer park and make trailer park quality decisions. In life, there are times where your best move is to get out of your own way. . .
For ****'s sake, quit posting **** like this.

If your lifetime decisioning has been poor, why not outsource advice on your child's important strategic decisions? Jefferson's family chose poorly. It's OK to be marginally competent and marginally successful in life. But just dont celebrate it. Sounds like you do.quote:quote:So you disagree, then, or would you care to try to piss me off?quote:

Oh, don't get me wrong, pissing you off has been a boatload of fun. However, denegrating a kid and his entire family on a message board because he did not choose us is childish, classless, and petty. And although I'd rather he chose the good guys, I harbor no ill will towards 18 year old football players I have absolutely no connection to.

This thread reminds me a lot of the threads on his decision to choose the sips in the first place. All the "experts" that were calling out Sumlin for not "trusting" him with a program changing decision. All the people that were elevating him to god-like status and claiming he was some sort of must have recruit. You were wrong then and you are wrong now. He is a good player and I would love to have him play for the good guys, but not if the baggage is too heavy.
Sumlin/Chavis/Program >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ANY single player and it's not even close.
Our program is offering kids the chance of a lifetime now. If they don't want it, then fine. We shouldn't get on our knees for anyone. I don't care how good they think they are.

And we are on page 6 talking about some HS recruit on the same day that we landed the BEST DC in the country. Kinda warped sense of importance if you ask me.

Red, you are a smart, witty fellow.

If he wants to talk, you talk and do whatever you can do bring in that kind of a talent. So he gave a verbal to Charlie under immense familial pressure and then got a bit excited about his commitment and talked a bit of crap about a rival school. Boo friggin hoo. The sort of people who let that bother them are the same thin-skinned idiots who come running over here to post that the 137th comment on whatever sports website story was a bonfire joke. Those people need to STFU and keep their ignorance to themselves, and let actual recruiters do their jobs.

Texas is already down...this is their only leg to stand on.
If Sumlin steals Malik he will completely vaporize the UT football program...and he may also be a Wizard from the future

Have Red Skye and ckwarren hooked up yet?

Sumlin should not have a dialogue with him. He made his decision. Stick with it.
