December 4th:
"Korey McNeal a Spring High School football player was injured during a Playoffs game on Friday, Nov. 28. Korey went down and didn't get back up. He was then Life Flighted to the University Medical Center Brackenridge in Austin for medical care. Korey was immediately rushed into surgery and now has a Paralyzing Injury. Please help raise funds to cover his medical expenses. Thank You All in advance!"
Update from about 3 weeks ago:
"Korey has been home for about 3 weeks now. Though he is out of the hospital he does outpatient therapy 3 times a week at a TIRR facility closer to home. He will continue to do outpatient therapy up until he goes back to TIRR's inpatient facility for phase 2 of his therapy set to begin at the beginning of March. Right now he is still in the same condition as before but gaining some feeling back in some of his fingers. Spirits still sit as high as the sky and we are most thankful for that. To all that have donated it is greatly appreciated not only by his family but Korey himself is very thankful for all of your prayers and generous donation."
Their goal is to raise 10k for his medical expenses. They have raised $4,805.00.
