If possible, recommend Memorial Hermann TIRR. The Institute for Research and Rehabilitation is one of the leading hospitals in the country for spinal cord injury. It is an excellent facility that can help maximize his recovery and is located right in Houston

Man, this was painful to read. I hope the kid recovers, having had an uncle who was a quadraplegic, wheelchairs are among the most cruel of prisons.

Prayers said. In San Antonio, there is a Non Profit called Gridiron Heros. Eddie & Chris Canales run this incredible organization. Their main purpose is to help football players with spinal cord injuries. I'll call them tomorrow and pass the word. They are Aggies and have been through this with Chris. Great people.

My dad has reffed HS ball for 35 years and seen this happen many times. My dad went to Bama, I was raised a Tide fan, went to A&M, no bigger fan of this game than me. But every time I see something like this I wonder how this game is played at all, as it is not an infrequent occurrence, unfortunately. Don't mean to detail the thread and not questioning or making any statements.

Hope for a full and speedy recover and mental strength for his family during this time.

I was thinking the same thing but then it occurred to me that life is full of risky endeavours. Everytime we leave our houses we subject ourselves to threats. Driving around in your car is about as dangerous as it gets.
We could chose to stay inside our homes and not take any risks to stay safe but are we truly living? Nobody would ever choose to be paralyzed, however, life is about living, not always playing it safe.
