to really get you kick-started with the texags community, i'll ask you a question to get a good football discussion going. hopefully you'll enjoy it as much as the rest of us.

in your opinion, what is the most important thing to look for in the coming season(s), to really signal that the "ship has been righted." other than, the obvious, tick marks in the win column?

1. I know Mike Sherman--started with me as a GA in Pittsburgh--he is a sound fundamental/technique coach-a players coach and as person-he is very sincere--the players will respond to his demands and hard work.
2. Joe Kines--is as good as you can get as a defensive coach--the players will love his energy and knowledge of the game. The most important aspect as a defensive coach is that you understand and coach techniques and fundamentals.
3. It will take time to catch up on the quality and depth in certain positions of our team.
4. Mike and Joe will not make any excuses--they will take what they have and make them better and they will feel and play better.
5. The bumps will come--but as I said in 1982--after the SMU game they better get there licks in now--Like the belief of every Aggie--Never Been Licked--GIG' EM

Jackie made all the Aggies smile during his tenure at Texas A&M.

I just wish we could have been fortunate enough to keep him.

Things would look different around Aggieland. There would be many more championship signs in Kyle Field because of Jackie Sherrill.

Thanks for your depth and insight concerning this season Coach Sherrill.

Jackie is the one who gave us the swagger. I only wish he could have stayed longer at A&M. I believe we would have won a national title or two. I believe Coach Sherman knows what it takes to get our swagger and confidence back. Like he said when he was hired, "A&M is a sleeping giant." I am excited about this coaching staff.
