Howdy Coach! Even though I'm not a football player, you always made the students feel you were "our coach" too. I loved seeing you all over campus.

It makes me ill to this day that you weren't able to finish what you started.

I met Coach Sherrill at Clemson back in 2005. He was at yell practice and was very easy to talk to. I didn't want to wash my hand after meeting him.

That's funny. I also met Jackie at Clemson before Yell. We were in a bar a few blocks away "getting ready" and he was sitting a few tables away. I got his autograph and he was very pleasant.

By the way, I've never been so mad in my life as to drive to South Carolina and watch us kick a field goal to make it 24-22. I don't claim to be a gridiron master, but even I knew to go for two. I am still mad about that crap. Sorry...

It was the 84 game I will always remember since it was so unexpected.

But the 85 game was the loudest I ever experienced at Kyle.

Agreed Ishmael. 1984 for those of us that were there for the transition years. That time from 10pm to 4 or 5am at Northgate after the game with everybody returning from asstin was ridiculous.

37-12 is still my favorite score of any event at any time in any sport.

I count my blessings to have been a part of the University as a student from 85 to 89 when Jackie was the HC and AD. I wish all of you could have experienced it. It was truly magical. 85 and 87 tu games.. it doesn't get much better than that.
