civilaggie2011-

He signed one of those for me 2 years ago during an Aggie fan Zone. I think this is where I got my Dickey jersey and Rodney Thomas items signed, as well.

I have one of the Aggie Bonfire Helmuts from the 1999 season... with The Bonfire Sticker on the rear.
When I called to find out the woman told me that all they had left were the more used helmuts. That was ok by me. Paid $125.00 and it was shipped loose and without packaging... perfect!
It is scared, blemished, war worned. It has a number inside it that I believe is a locker number or something....
hummmm, I wish there might be a way to find out whose helmut this once was? Is there a way?

Anyway, I hope it is Toombs!
Or one of the guys in the trenches... it is bigger than my head so the player is a big dude and it is heavily scarred up so this player is a warrior and a hero.... a battler, no doubt!
Especially on that special day... Bonfire...

Do you think the Athletic Department would have records still where I can find out what the inside numbers mean and who may have worn this helmut?

Toooooombs!!! He was The MAN that day! Remember Big FB Simpson, his blocker, and the AGGIE O-Line.
And That Great DEFENSE that defeated Simms and Applewhite!

Gig'em AGGIES!!!

You're thinking of Hardeman, not Simpson.

No Keegan, I don't think so

I think so. No "Simpson" is listed in the participation chart. Hardeman is there, however.

Well Slap me and call me Shirley.
You are exactly right, Keegan.
It was Tikki leading the way that day for Toombs.
It must be the 1998 season I am remembering with Simpson and Freshman Ja'Mar Toombs together in the backfield. Probably is Toombs breakout game against Nebraska.
I distinctly remember Toombs at TB and another Big back, Will Simpson, at FB. We were hammering it down their throats late in the game.
Looks like I will be watching that game (Neb 1998) today to refresh my memory. Or it could be KState Big XII Championship game??? may need to watch that one, too

Anyway...
I have an Aggie helmut from 1999 with The Aggie Bonfire sticker on the back. I treasure it!

Gig'em Aggies!

It's deja vu' all over again....

I have a Off Campus Aggie Mardi Gras doubloon that has the block A&M on one side. Certainly not worth very much but it is pretty cool to me. It is from the late 80s I believe when they tried to get a Mardi Gras celebration going and if I recall correctly they had a parade through campus with a few floats and they would throw beads and doubloons.

Dunnie, Thanks for the correction. I knew we didn't have Homecoming but I didn't know what else to call it. What do you call it - that 8th game when everybody shows up?

In the 47 "T" , we wore campaign hats as described!!! For you I should have pointed that out. Guess you weren't in school then.

Do you know when the "T" was discontinued?

In no particular order (after the first one anyway)
1) ring and diploma
2) baseball signed by Chuck Knoblauch in the fall of 91, right after the Twins WS win and his ROY season
3) poster with autographs from Chris Crooms and Quentin Coryatt (signed the day before Coryatt was drafted)
4) Kevin Smith auto'd Cowboys 8x10
5) all my ticket stubs from my 5 seasons as a students. Only home loss in that span 91-95 was the last one, tu game.
6) Bonfire ashes from my freshman year (91).
7) Coke 6 pack celebrating 98 Big XII championship.
8) Major Applewhite's half eaten breakfast burrito, day after Thanksgiving 99
