you should set-up an 'email' chain - the last person that received the PDF is responsible for fulfilling the next request. That way you don't have to work so hard!

My little story: After 12 years of eating what I wanted, on and off exercise, and many excuses, I got off my rear and started weight training back in Nov 2018. Five months later, I weighed pretty much the same (with some added muscle). Fed up, I started looking at diets to see what I could do ( I am 45 and belly fat simply isn't going away as easy as it did in my twenties...duh). Then, I stumbled onto this thread. I had tinkered with IF for a spell in my early thirties and the results were pretty good. So, I tried it again. I am 6'1" and on March 27th I weighed 225. Yesterday I weighed 208. The belly fat is putting up a good fight, but I'm determined to get down to around 180. Slow and steady. It's a lifestyle change. I will echo what many here have said before. This is easy to follow and it doesn't hurt...too much. My suggestion to anyone thinking about doing this is to STOP thinking and just DO IT. I know I have only lost 17 pounds, but let me tell you, I feel better each day and that feeling is like a drug. You get addicted to it and you crave more and more. Well, in this case, I guess it is less and less Thank you, OP, for trying to spread the message. If you hadn't, I might still be stuck and frustrated.

I am on Day 2 of IF. Yesterday was not as bad as I was expecting and today is much better. Stats are Age 45, 6'0 and 225 lbs. I am still trying to read up on the nutrition side of things so I am sure things will improve as I get more in tune with that aspect.

For reference:
Day 1- lasted 17 hrs
Day 2- moved it up to 17:55 but fell short of 18 due to a work obligation/poor planning on my part.
Day 3- Goal of 18 hrs then stick with that.

A couple quick tips for those just getting started:

1) It's okay to feel hungry. When your body is used to expecting food all day long (or at some particular time), and then you suddenly don't eat, the natural reaction is to feel hungry. But you are only eating at that time because it's a HABIT - and once you develop a new habit, your body will adjust. You will soon learn to observe the fact you are hungry, but not be alarmed by it. Just drink some water or a cup of coffee, go for a quick walk, and distract yourself. The time to eat will come soon enough. In a few days or weeks, you won't even notice that you're hungry on fast days, because your body will no longer expect food in the mornings. Meanwhile, notice how clear headed and productive you are while fasting!

2) Remember there is always tomorrow. If you are craving a snack or chocolate or whatever your weakness is, tell yourself - I can eat it tomorrow.

Hang in there - this lifestyle will be second nature soon enough, and your health and weight will thank you for it. Plus you'll feel great!

After my first week of IF I am amazed at the results. My experiences so far:
-Found the 18:6 to be my personal sweet spot
-Dropped 9 lbs (work is doing a Biggest Loser challenge so the timing is good for weekly tracking)
-Exercise daily using kettlebells
-My main concern is the caloric deficit. I am eating about 2k calories per day but still running a deficit of 1k on most days
-Tracking what I eat and the calories has been very eye opening. All junk food has been cut out.

I've posted it in this thread before but I'll say it again: I have never had weight loss success like I have had while doing IMF. I dropped 30#, got back to my college freshman year weight for the first time since college freshman year, and went down 4 waist sizes. I've also been able to stop taking bp meds. Since I'm 'over the hill' I feel like this quite the feat!

And it wasn't really that hard. These best part: now that I've lost so much extra weight, it's much easier to workout/exercise now.

Started yesterday. I've done 16/8 before and had some success with it, but trying to add in the 2 days a week of 500 cals or less. Today is my first day doing that, so wish me luck.

Your handle seems to imply you're a guy so you can actually do 600, and honestly if 600 is making you miserable do 700 or 800 the first few times until your body gets used to the new pattern. Ease into it if you need to.

Week and a half in, and loving it so far. Didn't weigh in before I started or during the first week at all, so don't know what total weight loss is, but I'm down 6 pounds since I first weighed on Saturday, so in 5 days. That includes eating pretty poorly on Saturday and Sunday (though still doing 16/8) for Mother's Day festivities. The 16/8 fast days are easy, have done that in the past. The under 500-600 calorie days can be a little tough, but it's not that bad. Toughest day was this Monday. I started out doing Tuesday/Thursday as my 500-600 calorie days, but had to shift up to Monday this week due to a dinner I had to attend for work yesterday. On Mondays, I go to Camp Gladiator after work, so doing that on very few calories was really tough.....but I made it.

199.8. 199.8!!!!

I haven't seen a weight that started with a 1 in about 15 years (soph year of college). That was my weight this morning.

I haven't even been all that disciplined, and my fast days are basically just one meal a day OMAD where they are actually pretty big meals. But this works. I am closing in on 50 pounds in about 5 months. That is crazy.

Just wanted to say thanks again Tailgate. This thread was a huge inspiration.

I had been running since February and was losing weight slowly.. 1-2 lbs a month. I started doing 18/6 IMF on May 3rd at 182.2 lb and since then I have dropped to a consistent 177.0 lb! Skipping breakfast has been a non issue and I have not tried any 5/2 days since my progress has been consistent.

Amazingly, this drop coincides with me injuring my groin and unable to run. Gives me motivation to see the transformation once I get back to my workouts coupled with IMF.

This success has been a huge lift for my general health and enthusiasm for self improvement. I want to thank you all for your posts in making this such an impactful thread for so many!

Here's my story....I started doing the 16/8 fast everyday after reading this thread on April 8th. I was about 184lbs then and this morning I weighed in at 169lbs. Things I have definitely noticed...the brain fog I experienced on a daily basis has seemed to have lifted. I can think more clearly and focused. My productivity has increased tremendously. I have accomplished so many projects around the house that I have been letting linger on forever.

The thing that really gets me about all this is I did a round of whole 30 to the T last year which was a time consuming pain in the a** and didn't get this good of results. I was also lifting and running during that time. It all became too much for me and I burned myself out. Then I lost all my gains after a while. All that effort when it was just as easy as skipping breakfast.

Looking forward to where this goes from here. Getting ready to start adding back in some lifting and running to help speed things up a little.

I just keep thinking to myself, "what's the catch? This seems to good to be true." It's definitely opening my eyes to a huge industry out there that's lying to people and raking in huge profits from people who don't know any better.
