Well, a little change of plans. Got a call today and peloton will be delivered tomorrow morning. I haven't researched much and still know nothing, what's a good class for a first sweat? I'm an intermediate cyclist that hasn't been on a spin bike in a while. Help me find something to break it in! Thank you!!

If you're a roadie, I'd suggest Wilpers as he's the least spin-classy.

And Christine d'ercole. Her motivational stuff can get slightly cheesy, but she's a national champion track cyclist.

There is another power zone challenge coming up (starts late August) that I encourage all to try who haven't. Might work for you , might not but it is motivating.
Officially signed up for this. Looking forward to it!

Woke up yesterday to an email that they couldn't meet delivery as scheduled. No clue now when it's coming. Bummer...

There will be a link saying register. The lady who runs this website does it as a side piece, so if might be a bit different than you would expect. But she does a great of job.

Would y'all recommend the peloton over a membership to a place like cyclebar? The wife and I both work from home and live about 30 mins from a cyclebar. After doing the math for a membership for both of us + plus driving to the place, seems like buying a peloton is the easy answer. Just looking for more input from others since I only know 1 other person with a peloton.

Cyclebar is just cycle. Peloton is just about every thing.

An hour round trip to do cycling classes? Guarantee you will be less likely to make that drive than to hop on a bike that is in your house.

When you don't have motivation, you won't will yourself to drive 30 mins for a class, but you can probably convince yourself to do a 10 minute class. Then 5 mins into that class, you'll start feeling it and say, "I should just do another 30 mins."

Also as mentioned, peloton has lots of other, non-cycling classes. Only advantage of cyclebar is that you could do a ride together.

I'm new to having one, just 4 weeks, but the convenience of an instructor led workout from home is the selling point for me with my busy schedule. Between work, errands, and taking care of a good sized piece of property, any commute cuts into my schedule. I've worked out more since I got the Peloton than I have since getting out of the Army 15 years ago. Already lost 10 lbs, and already improving my fitness level. My only regret was not getting it earlier

My wife and I teach spinning at a gym and get access to the spinning classes from other instructors for free. We both ride the peloton way more often than we go to the gym for classes anymore. It seems like an easy choice because it is. The convenience of riding anytime you want, and choosing the duration, instructor, and ride type just can't be matched by any brick and mortar facility.

This. This. This. I actually find myself getting hyped about certain rides when I check the schedule and I look forward to my time on the bike. Plus it beats wondering through the gym aimlessly. I get a good lift in and pre-load my class for the day, then attack. I have dropped at least 10 pounds since the beginning of July and I have improved my strength/energy tremendously in a short period of time.

Should have done this WAY sooner.

I FINALLY will be getting my bike tomorrow after two delivery delays. I have done spinning classes in the past but not in a while. I'm a soccer player so I favor change of pace rides with a little tabata mixed in rather than rides that are all climbing. Any suggestions on which classes to start with?

Alex Touissant had a 30 minute Tabata Ride in the couple of days.

First ride should probably be a 'Beginner Ride' so you get used to the call outs, especially with the resistance numbers.

50 pages into a "I just got a peloton" thread and you should have your answer.

Just finished this ride. Holy crap, it was like a spiritual experience. I think I left my body for a little while. That was well done!

Honestly, if all you want is a bike that you can hop on indoors and do prestructured workouts as part of a training plan for an event, a Wahoo and zwift will do fine and be a lot cheaper. If you want to race against others doing digital doping, get a Wahoo and zwift. But if you want a wide variety of workouts on and off the bike, a large community of folks to ride and challenge yourself with, and like the motivation of having an instructor giving you cues, peloton really can't be beat and it is worth the extra money.

I was looking at every option and ended up with the Peloton because I figured the amount of people devoted to the platform meant that it had a better chance of staying around, compared to a company trying to undercut Pelton that might flop out of the business, or a company like Norditrac that could shut down the biking angle if they don't succeed in pulling market share.
