Check Facebook or Craigslist. We found our bike on FB for dirt cheap about 6 months ago. I think it's a gen 1 but for what we paid for, it works.

I think you got lucky more than anything. Most sell for a good amount used.
Especially now, with such long shipping times.
Honestly not sure what they cost new, but someone put one on a Facebook group I'm on for $1800 a couple days ago and it was sold by the time I got on again in a couple hours.
just did a quick look at houston and Austin and it doesn't look like there are any available.
New is like $2,100 or so. Add shoes, mat, weights, etc. and the package increases to like $2,400.
I've seen a ton sell for cost minus tax/shipping.
Maybe on the Peloton black market. But the site says $2,245 new.

had to set it up myself which is no big deal. one quick question: I've got the screen attached to the arm and the arm in the hole at the front of the bike. feels like there should be a screw or something to keep it from the slight left to right wiggle it has...am i wrong about that? does it just sit in the hole?

Yes, mine has a screw holding it snug there. Sorry the photo is a bit blurry, but that is an allen head screw recessed into the hole that is holding the bar tight.StringerBell said:

Yeah they're doing threshold delivery which means they had a non peloton shipping company come in and drop off all the stuff. Fortunately they put it in the house and i set it up from there. Nothing too hard.

Agree 100%. Three PZ rides two of which are 60 minutes is brutal after the weeks we've had leading up to this on the 3 ride teams.
Just saw they are starting live rides/runs/other from instructors homes. Should be an interesting change
Now everyone can participate in the widely unknown but popular game all NYCers play where you try and guess where someone lives only by looking at the buildings in view of other's apartment window.
Was #2 in line for a gen3 in Austin at $1,500.
I'm on ride one and it's beating me down as well. Funny how I can be so far away from a PR but feel absolutely smashed by a PZ ride.

Just a heads up, even the Peloton employee at the Peloton store told me I could get all the same accessories on the Internet for a lot cheaper. I think the Peloton shoes are just rebranded Shimano shoes.
We put a MDF board under the mat because ours is on carpet - if yours is on carpet you may want to do the same.

Also, the HR monitor is rubbish. We used the $100 accessories on them and they died within two months. Stuck with a standard Garmin after that.

It's just for accessories. I used my own bike code (R544PF) when I got the tread and got some weights. I got the "Works" packaged for the Black Friday deal. Shoes are OK (got them for my wife) but everything else is ok.

String (and other OTF'ers): just a note, you can use your OTF HR monitor with the bike. It's a pretty seamless config.
It will work with any Bluetooth HR monitor pretty much. If she doesn't like HR chest straps, I got a Wahoo TickrFit armband optical HR monitor a few months ago on Amazon and it has worked just fine with the Peloton.
yep! i didnt bother unpacking the peleton heart rate monitors. im just gonna continue using the OTF one.

I bought my wife some Giro shoes on Amazon and saved a ton. The Peloton HR monitor is pure garbage. Either that or I have AFib.
Powerbeats3 can be had at Walmart for like $60 and they're a great set of quality buds for the Peloton.

Has anyone got a high five from an instructor on a recorded class? It looks like Wilpers did this morning and I'm wondering if it's some kind of bot doing them. I couldn't find him in those currently riding. Cool if it was actually him at 5:30 in the morning.
Katie swears she got a shout out on a recorded class awhile back. I highly doubt it, but she will argue with me.
