So the bike shows "delivered" today, but nothing was delivered. I called them up and they weren't sure why the status said that, but confirmed nothing went out for delivery because the distribution center was out of bikes. Now I have to wait for them to get more bikes in.

Nitro (or anyone in PZP, I guess), question: I started OA's 45 min PZE from 7/30 this afternoon, but my power went out and internet died, so I assumed the ride was lost. Just did it all again tonight (thankfully no power interruptions), but was surprised to see my partial ride also synced. For challenge purposes, which one will "take?" Do I need to delete the partial workout from my Peloton profile and re-sync, or leave it as is? This has never happened to me before, so of course it happens on my first official challenge ride haha.

Oh, and for the record, chasing #TexasAggies was more of a push for this first ride than my own team's hashtag haha. Whoop!

The challenge is scored by you checking off the ride on the challenge page at power zone pack. I would delete the partial ride just because I'm OCD about crap like that and wouldn't want a partial ride "cluttering up" my profile. Leaving it in won't hurt anything, especially since you did the full ride as well.

Tangent question...have you taken your FTP test or were you guessing at your zones? Or did you just ignore the zone ques?

Thanks for the advice!

Taken the FTP test twice. I usually follow the zone cues to the letter for the first half of the ride. If I'm feeling good during PZ or PZE rides, sometimes I'll push the zones a bit for the 2nd half (i.e., try to go zone 4 when they say zone 3, etc.). Doesn't always work out (usually I end up crapping out and have to go back to following the zones again).

It gets easier. First week or so always sucks. Especially after a new FTP test. I did a ride the other day that I did in September. Increased my output by 100 peloton units.

I really need to redo my ftp. Just got done with an hour long wilpers endurance ride and despite doing most of it at threshold or higher I feel nothing right now.

Absolutely! Gonna try to get it in early in the AM before the house wakes up. If I sleep in, it's gonna be another 10PM ride like last night haha.

100?! Yowzers lol. I've only done it twice. This is my 3rd or 4th week with the new zones. Finally feel like they're MY zones, but yeah I've only been averaging 3 rides a week up until now, so this challenge is pushing me a bit. I need it.

10pm it is for me. Wife has a workout class in the morning so by the time she's done the kids will be up and my day is shot until later (going to SeaWorld in the afternoon/evening). I'll look for ya on the leaderboard if you have to ride at an earlier, less godforsaken time!

doing the next pzp challenge and last friday my zones felt pretty weak. retested yesterday and went up about 15 pts which was great.

but the ride for today had 23 minutes in zone 4 and lol maybe i should have taken some time to get used to the new zones.

Yeah, the 7-min. interval kinda sucked, and after that, the 5 and 3 coming back down didn't seem much easier either.

Got my bike a month ago and did that Discover Your Power Zones program. Keep in mind prior to getting my bike I was getting fat, out of shape and drank way too much so my output following the first test was 85 I think, I'll be interested today when I take the test following the month long program because right now that is pretty much my level one output. It really is an effective program and even after one month I can already see and feel a major difference on my well being

What's this fitness test everyone is talking about? Just got my bike last weekend and have ridden 6 classes, but don't know anything about the test. Apologies for the ignorance.
Also, what is a typical output for first few rides?

FTP warmup and test. Basically it beats you down to tell your your FTP score which goes into your preference settings so you know your zones when doing a power zone ride. Basically it caters the class to your level of fitness and quantifies where you are today

One thing that perhaps gets overlooked in regards to the FTP test is the mental aspect. Matt Wilpers is always talking about this aspect of the FTP test. It is a really good indication of both aspects of your fitness.

for real.

i did things differently this time. instead of listening to matt i just had a playlist on my phone. i turned on the captions and just watched the clock.

they say that you want to keep dragging your average output up, but for me it was starting off hot and then losing steam not towards the end and making sure that my average didnt get dragged down.

Pretty much the same here. I have taken it enough times that I know what works best.

This is what I "try" to do, but towards the later minutes I lose focus.

First 30 seconds of the ride is Zone 6+

Maintain current Zone 4 with the following exceptions:

1) Block 1 (Minutes 1-5) - Last 30 seconds Zone 5+
2) Block 2 (Minutes 6-10) - Last 1 minute Zone 5+
3) Block 3 (Minutes 11-15) - Last 1.5 minutes Zone 5 & 6 (1 min Z5 / 30 sec Z6)
4) Block 4 (Minutes 16-20) - Last 2 minutes Zone 5 & 6 (30 sec Z5 / 1 min Z6 / 30 sec Z7)

This is always the plan, but mental fatigue always takes its toll.

Also, just so you are aware, everyone's first FTP test kinda sucks. For most people, it's somewhat of a new experience to push yourself to your absolute limit. You should feel like dying/puking at the end of the 20 min., but it's hard to gauge that feeling the first time. Don't get discouraged, as you can always re-test. Or you can ride a challenge at that level and you'll pretty much be guaranteed improvement when you test again at the end of the challenge. Good luck!

Thank you. Where do I find this test? I saw something for a 4 week program, but nothing for a single test. Or is it one and the same?
