People say the delivery is quoted at 2 to 6 weeks. I am assuming it will be longer than that until proven otherwise

I test drove one today. Honestly didn't love it. Going to hold off on ordering one. For the price it just didn't feel great. If the price point was 10 to 15k cheaper I'd be all over it but it still isn't cheap at 55k.

The Rivian looks like an ugly LEGO car. Looks like an 80s gremlin.

This fad with electric cars having s white led strip across the front snd looking dorky baffles me.

Still looks better than the Spurs' shooting in the 4th quarter

Not sure why you felt the need to go there?

Did the Rivian touch you in a special place and you felt the need to lash out when someone pointed out your new girlfriend was ugly?

Being that I don't have to drive it, my opinion is just that, my opinion. I hope if you order one that you and her are super happy together. I'd just suggest you drive her mostly at night, things can get rough when the bar turns it's lights on at 2am and you see what you're driving home.

My current daily is a Miata RF. The "ugly" R2 will do the stuff that the cute Miata won't do

Fair enough and on a serious reply, I would only state that this is an expensive trial car for a new brand that is going to have goodness knows what issues…. And is currently rocking very low reliability marks.

And I think you could get a really nice, proven, SUV elsewhere for the same money…. Or far less.

But again, this is my opinion and it's just simply that.

It's kind of like the cyber truck, I can't get past how ugly it is - regardless of need, I just won't own one. But that's me.

Not great for the R2
R2 Performance: 253 miles at 70 mph
Model Y Performance: 310 miles at 70 mph
Order window is not until November, plenty of time to look at something else or look for another used Macan

Was that range result all that unexpected?

R2 is a brick, it's got 3+ inches more ground clearance, higher payload and towing capacity, full time front/rear motors vs. Tesla's decoupling front AC motor, low ground clearance and lower drag coefficient.

I suppose people will cross shop them and then drive them similarly through their suburban environment to Costco and the U8 traveling competitive cheerleading competitions, but they definitely do and should attract buyers with different priorities for their midsize wagon electric vehicle.

The EPA range is 330 miles for this wheel and tire combo on the R2 Performance vs 306 miles for the MYP. The R2 also decouples the front motor in the drive mode they were using. Rivian was benchmarking the R2 against the Model Y and claimed it was more efficient after releasing the EPA results. It was achieved by using a different test procedure within the standards

Ah ok then - I can see it not being a good look vs. claimed range. I suppose range is still one of the biggest selling points for EV adoption.
