While this would normally be below criteria, the widespread loss of power and A/C will make for dangerous conditions. The Kroger strip center with the Whataburger, Sonic, and Raising Canes at Falcon Landing and Gaston has had power almost the entire time and that is less than a mile from me.mm98 said:

There was that one incident a few years back where some lady goes around a barrier and drove her Tahoe into a flooded underpass near Allen parkway. You see the light from her phone as she was furiously texting until the completely Tahoe sinks and her phone finally shorts out.

Are phone calls essentially non existent right now? Tenant said they can't make any phone calls at all since this am and that includes phone service at the USCG air station where one of them works. Hard to coordinate SAR when people can't even call in to the air station.

Is that El Dorado? I was surprised they left so many trees when they widened that road for this exact reason. Hope they can get it patched up quickly.

I couldn't get in touch with most of my employees today because of bad cell reception.
Sure seems like a lot of power and cell failure for a Cat 1 storm. I wonder why? Lack of maintenance or tree trimming? Maybe drought weakened trees?

I'm 77077 around Dairy Ashford and Briarforest, so not too far from there. No power at last check about an hour ago. Left to stay at my parents' in Cstat for the night.

In sugar land, I had great cell service through the eye. Once the eye passed, it went away. Only way I can make a call is to hook the WiFi router up to a portable charger I have and hop on WiFi

Anyone else using Fidium for internet? Power has been back on here in Katy for a while, but the internet is still down. Kids had to watch a movie on BluRay earlier. Blew their minds lol.
