Zoysia. Water it on alternate days for 15 minutes. Looks like a golf course. Don't do anything else other than quarterly bifen/tekko spray.
Good way to encourage weak shallow root systems.
You do you. Sometimes I skip a month. Sometimes it rains. Sometimes I turn off the sprinkler and forget for a few weeks. I put it in after Harvey. 7 years later - I'll bet it looks and feels better than your yard. No weeds. The zoysia kills them. If it looks a little brown, I water it for a few minutes.

It's grass. Should I worry that it will fall over?

What you just described is different than "water it every other day for 15 minutes". Watering frequently and shallowly creates weak shallow roots that are more susceptible to heat stress, drought (if water restrictions make you stop watering every other day), as well as insect pests. Watering deeper and infrequently makes the grass grow deeper stronger roots that are less susceptible to those things.

Hurricane season is essentially over for the Texas coast...what else are we going to talk about until next June?

I think they are starting to settle down, but my allergies have been going INSANE on and off for weeks. Anyone else? I'm sure it's laregely due to the dry/windy weather, but I haven't experienced it this bad in probably two decades.

No joke. For the past two weeks I've had to double up on Allegra D 24 and Mucinex D 12, my measure of last resort, but it didn't make dent this time. Then suddenly today- poof. Allergies cleared. I've kept my eye on the Houston Pollen and Mold report, but today was the first day that any cedar -my usual trigger- had been detected. Go figure.
Same, mine seem to finally be clearing up, fingers crossed. But it was crazy how much sh** I was hacking up on and off for the last month. And sneeze fits like I haven't had since college.

I think part of it (for me) is being in Cypress, near a bunch of open fields/tress etc., as opposed to Oak Forest. They were never all that bad the 8 yrs we spent there.

My wife is allergic to most grass pollens. Does that count? She is still hoping for some more rain though.

Follow up for people that had Generac issues:

Had an advanced tech from Generator Superstore come to my parent's house this week to look at their less than 3 year old Generac. Unit stopped working 6 hours into the hurricane. They are paying for maintenance and monitoring system plan. The Tech said they had 20,000 units go out in the Houston area during the hurricane. Sounds like they had more sales reps than technicians.

Parent's unit is still not fixed and needs several parts replaced on a fairly new generator. It's been over 3 months since the hurricane. Ridiculous.

I was an outspoken ITL'er until we moved just outside (Meyerland), got flooded and moved to the Norf Side just outside (Garden Oaks), then back ITL (Bellaire). Now, I've moved just a bit outside the loop again -- by about 450 miles. So OTL forever.

Yep, but in terms of lifestyle, it's way more "ITL" than Memorial, or Katy, or Cypress.

If you live within 1-2 miles of 610 and cross it on pretty much a daily basis (and not for work), I consider you ITL...if we are forming OTL vs ITL armies to pit against each other. This sometimes p*sses off the trustafarians in their $2MM homes in The Heights and the West U elitists...and that is the cherry on top.
