At a prior court she told him flat out she doesn't need his vote anymore. I don't know what happened, other than a power struggle, between those 2. I do think a majority of it comes from Garcia seeding his people in several high profile departments and Watching them fail spectacularly. Most notably thr General at Universal Services. Now it's Milton in Engineering/Permits with massive staff attrition, and the dude running Toll Road got a massive raise she's had huge issues with.

I could actually get behind a Parker run for County Judge. Im no liberal, but she is relatively cut from the Ogg/Whitmire wing of the party and would at least know how to run a meeting and a budget.. this is assuming no Republican will ever win that seat again..

I really don't understand why the Ds didn't put up a serious candidate last cycle to primary her? I know its because Ellis and Garcia could control her. Well…we see where that has gone….
Based on conversations with multiple folks I know inside HC govt, none of them respect her. In a few cases, they've been told to participate in a photo shoot and did their best to tap out of it.
On a side note, they all are enjoying the interaction between Dora and Whitmire. The "nerd" exchange is only the tip of the iceberg as they've witnessed a few other exchanges in private where he pushed her button almost to the point of a meltdown. I'm not a fan of Parker replacing her as she is much more savvy about politics and would do more damage with the other D's on the Court..

It's a double edged sword. At least she's incompetent so she can't get too much progressive **** done, but she does have an actual job of running the county and it would be better to have competent leadership. Briones or Parker are competent but I might not love at what they'd actually be able to get done.

This exchange is in regard for calling for a public hearing of creating a new maintenance tax on Harris County Flood Control District facilities. Once the public hearing is held, they will call for an election by the people to pass a maintenance tax in addition to their current ad valorem tax for HCFCD.
