Mid to late next week
The rest of next week looks pretty decent here in Houston. I would suspect we see increasing sunshine and also increasing temperatures, along with slowly increasing humidity. Look for highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s by the end of the week. We may want to watch for slightly higher shower chances Wednesday, but overall it looks fine right now.

Saturday

The first half of the weekend will be warm, likely in the mid- to upper-80s, with mostly cloudy skies. Shower and thunderstorm chances will increase during the afternoon and evening hours, but again we don't quite have enough information about the atmosphere to really say whether some strong storms will develop. So for now, the best I can say is that there is the potential for these storms ahead of the front, which will move in late Saturday night.

Just a quick shoutout to Jason with Infinity Roofing

He came by yesterday to check things out after the hail storm last week. Turns out there was pretty evident hail damage and we're starting the claim process.

He's been great to work with! If you need any roofing help I recommend.

Getting better!

The first half of the weekend will be hot, with partly sunny skies and highs generally in the upper-80s. A few areas will probably hit 90 degrees with the warm southerly air. Some showers and thunderstorms will be possible on Saturday afternoon, evening, and night, but the models have backed off accumulations a fair amount. This means that overall rain chances are now about 50 percent, and totals will likely be on the order of an tenth of an inch, or two. The best chance for rain and severe weather, with the front, look to be northeast of the Houston metro area.

Thank you so much. I really appreciate your kind words!

I will be doing inspections again this Tuesday, April 18, in the Houston area, and will get to everyone as I can. If anyone would like to be added to my schedule, give me a shout. For those that are unsure if they have damage... my recent inspections have been hit and miss for hail damage. Even some homes that were hit with hail, still look OK, and I will never recommend replacement if it's not needed. That's not the kind of operation I run.

That all being said, I would just like to extend a personal thank you for everyone that has reached out to me to assistance with their roofing over the years. When I left my corporate job, nearly 8 years ago, I never imagined being 'a roofer' would yield a higher level of personal satisfaction in meeting new people and completing their roofs/projects. Yes, there is a massive stigma with it, but I do try to change that with every customer. Some projects are easy, some are tough, but all are different. I'm also so very happy to just be able to help with questions, advice, second opinions, etc. Gig 'em Ags!

I stopped asking that question. I don't want any more "hold my beer" situations from the Earths Weather Department.

Supposed to get wild tonight and early tomorrow morning.

Quote:

Phase one of storms mainly north and west of Houston will begin winding down this evening. The second phase of storms should be widespread and hit most of the area with heavy rain, lots of thunder and lightning, and potentially strong, gusty winds in the overnight hours. It would be a good idea to have a way to receive weather warnings overnight, just to be safe.

It's bad in Waco and temple now. Uvalde had a nasty storm but I don't see reports of hail or damage.

Looks like I'm working in Fredericksburg tomorrow.

F'burg Storm came over us in Kingsland and there was no hail, might want to verify what happened before you head that way. Quite a few spots that got about 1in of rain an hour, some got most of that in 15min.

Swing and a miss, Eric.

That was Matt, not Eric.

Funny side note, but Matt is clearly very pissed he no longer has his blue check on Twitter. He tries to play it off, but he clearly felt he was a "very important person" who deserved the check mark.

That is pretty funny. Didn't realize which one it was. Just laughably bad to put out a video that says it's not gonna rain much south of I-10 six hours before that area gets walloped. It's beyond me how people in this town act like these guys walk on water when all they do is go to the NWS forecast discussion, change a few words, and post it as their own. Oh, and make laughably inaccurate videos as well.

Maybe you should show them how to do it. I also think they are great and appreciate the service. SCW is consistently the best and most accurate forecast in Houston. But lots of dynamics on the front last night and the update was off but no forecast will be always spot on. It's an opinion.

Pretty easy to be accurate when all you're doing is taking the forecast from the NWS and re-wording it slightly. If you want the same "service," just check the NWS website a couple hours before they post their forecast.
