Power still out and not expected back on until 5 today. Live near The Woodlands too. Neighbor lost half his fence last night.

We're in Klein. Not only did we lose power but our cell service was crap. Anyone else experience that? I was missing the landline days so I could check on my MIL.
So I called the Township and they directed me to Montgomery County Precinct 3. They said they may or may not help me out because I already cut up the tree and removed it from the road. I will be furious if they try to tell me they would have removed the entire 100 foot tall pine tree except now that I (along with a bunch of help from my neighbors) cleared the road so my neighbors can get through and leave the neighborhood. They basically said if I move it all back in the street then they will take it. Ridiculous.TXTransplant said:
Are you in the Township? If so they should handle the cleanup. There is an app you can download to report an issue. It's called My Woodlands.
If you're Woodlands adjacent, you can probably pile it up in your yard and call your trash removal service to do a "bulky pickup" and remove it.

And some folks want the government running health care.

This person put in the request for me. I am sure some of the tree is still in the road, but I am concerned that the part with the tree trunk is maybe not in the road since we cut it with a chainsaw and then drug the top of the tree over to the side of the ride. I will have to go grab a tow strap and drag it a foot or 2 out into the road to be safe.TXTransplant said:
Oh, man…that's nuts! I have to ask, though…isn't the tree technically still "in the street"? I mean, you didn't pile it all up in your yard, right? I don't why it makes any difference if it lies where it fell or if you stacked it up to clear a path.
Maybe try putting in a service request on the app. That way you don't have to talk to anyone who may or may not be a complete idiot. If worker bees actually make a trip out to your 'hood, I'd like to believe they will actually pick it up. Trick is getting someone to come out.

We finally got Centerpoint out to our house for the downed tree that took out the power lines in our backyard. Centerpoint guy is convinced it was a tornado. He said he can see a clear path of destruction.
