Pea size hail in Kingwood

Yeah, we got a little bit of it but wasn't a lot or enough to worry about damage. But in the 45 minutes or so it lasted, we got 2". It was pouring.

Swing and a miss, Eric.

That was Matt, not Eric.

Funny side note, but Matt is clearly very pissed he no longer has his blue check on Twitter. He tries to play it off, but he clearly felt he was a "very important person" who deserved the check mark.

Funny you mention that, one of them has been re-tweeting some political stuff recently. Probably reaching that point where they think their more influential than they really are. Appreciate what they do, but stick to the weather!

It's Matt...He's very clearly a liberal and trending more to the left each week. It's pretty annoying when I only want to see what he has to say about the weather.

My 10 and 7 year old slept right through it. Hell, I'm sure my 10 year old could sleep through a train going by 6" from her head. She is a heavy sleeper. Anyway, I was going to bed as it was rolling in, and as I was turning off the lights downstairs, I hear a bedroom door open. I walk to the bottom of the stairs knowing who it was and my 4 year old is crying and running down the stairs, and then jumps into my arms from like the 4th step from the bottom. I took him into the bed with my wife and I and he clinged to me the whole time. I got almost no sleep last night because of him (I seem to always be the one with the feet in the face), but I wouldn't trade it for the best sleep of my life. Things I thought I'd never miss I am missing with the older 2, so I'm eating it up with the little guy.

GAAAHHHHH...

Houston inspections starting to load in for Houston next week, San Antonio today, Fredericksburg tomorrow....

And my house took nearly a direct hit from lightning.

Toasted my LTE router, 4 switches, networking modules on motherboard on a PC, and Mesh routers....TOAST.

Scrambling to get some kind of internet up for the kids...all homeschooled so kind of crucial. I think I got it. Now maybe I can get on with my day. LOL. Always something.

Seems like it's been an abnormally active severe weather season for central and SE Texas.

I think we flipped from Nina to Nino right? Nino brings wetter weather.

El Nino well underway. This spring (at least since April) has reminded me of springs around here when I was a kid.

You shut your mouth!

And it was 61* this morning and my effing neighbor had their ACs kicking.

It seems it hasn't better wetter than normal but louder.

Like every week or so we get a night or two of severe thunderstorms with some loud thunder and crazy lightening.

Actually been nice because it's been frantically mild. Seems like spring has lasted longer than the typical 2 weeks.

We are going into El Nino and historically that means more southerly jet flow which disrupts hurricanes.

It may be active in the Atlantic, but El Nino usually keeps the gulf pretty quiet

8 new roofs in Fredericksburg where I'm working a lot. That's only one small neighborhood. Bunch of folks about to be big mad at their roofers. 6 weeks can make all the difference.

FWIW I believe SCW said a few weeks back that it should be a quieter year than normal for Houston.

SCW's last post was two days ago so got on Matt Lanza's Twitter feed to get info on developing storms.

Other than one tweet about how hard it is to predict weather, his tweets over last 18 hours have been non-stop anti-gun retweets.

Ridiculous.

And yes, he should stick to weather, that's why people follow him on twitter.

It would be equally annoying if he was diving into textual analysis of the second amendment in defense of gun rights.

He's a great weather guy but immediately becomes "midwit who follows herd mentality" once he leaves that domain, as evidenced by his unironical recommendation of the book Caste.

It's an issue he feels is important and while I don't agree with it he has a right to tweet about.

Whatever...I'll just stick to the website and not have to sort through the BS.
