GA for Isbell's show in June at 713 is going for $95 face value. That's borderline on whether that worth it. I could pass but I imagine the wife is gonna want to go.
We just saw Reckless Kelly and Old 97s at 713 a couple weeks ago for like $45.
So not everything is crazy but I understand higher than normal prices.

It's a hot ticket right now you cheap ****s
Cheapest I see on Stubhub is $180 plus fees and cheapest on OfferUp is $170. I thought my price was fair.
I miss being able to see them for $25 at the Crosby Rodeo or Firehouse.
sounds like my previous experiences with Ryan Adams.one MEEN Ag said:$15 at Harrys.drumboy said:Diggity said:

$free show in steamboat springs for being too drunk at a musicfest performance.
Turnpike holds the title for 'best show I've ever gone to' and 'worst show I've ever gone to.'
I'll let everyone get some pent up Turnpike out of their system before I spend some serious money on them.
they are the better bandChewy said:
Cody Canada and The Departed are the opening act so should be a great night.
I remember seeing Turnpike in college a few times and falling in love with their music. 2 or 3 years ago, I was excited to take my wife to see them at HLSR, since she had never seen them live but also loved their music. That show sucked so bad.one MEEN Ag said:$15 at Harrys.drumboy said:Diggity said:

No they aren't. Ragweed in their prime, maybe

Pretty sure they did a live recording at shadow canyon. And many Harry's shows in the early/mid 2000's. Always a good time.
ragweed is far superior to turnpike. Turnpike has probably had a lot more commercial success, but different eras.TXAG 05 said:Ragoo said:they are the better bandChewy said:

I think the band wanted to be there but Felker clearly didn't. When the lyric to the last song ended he headed for the truck and just stood there. The rest of the band was playing and soaking it all in.TXAG 05 said:
The HLSR show was rough. Supposedly they pulled Evan out of rehab that morning. Arguably the biggest show of their career and they all looked like they had somewhere else they'd rather be.

Cross Canadian led a movement that created a new sound. It was on the heels of Pat Green, Cory Morrow, and Roger Creager but Cross Canadian brought an edge to Texas/Red Dirt sound. I joked with friends it was really Cody Canada and some lucky friends. Cody Canada was 80% of that band. Dude is really strong musically but his sound is really similar across all their songs. It's Cody's guitar and vocals and some guys dragging along.
Felker and Turnpike are much more diverse from a song standpoint. Their lyrics and sound have a much bigger range than Cross Canadian. Felker can write some amazing lyrics along with singing while the band is right behind him.
They're both great but just came along at different times. Turnpike might not have been able to do what Cross Canadian did 20 years ago but here they are.
No matter how you feel this nine minutes at Shadow Canyon in 2003 is an amazing mark in time. These are serious names at one place early in the Texas/Red Dirt movement.
