Well that squashes the OD/Fentanyl narrative some were trying so hard to push early in this thread.

True. To be fair, I think that was a combination of two things. (A) the fact that fentanyl OD's from street drugs are significantly on the rise, and (B) Police in presser reporting that an officer had been injected with something and collapsed and had to be revived by narcan.
That actually sounds like more than I would have guessed. The problem was getting around through the crowd.Quote:
As the West Coast medical director of ParaDocs Worldwide, a mobile medicine team hired by Astroworld organizers, Barron helped lead a team of more than 70 ParaDocs staffers stationed throughout the festival grounds and inside medical tents. The medic teams ended up treating hundreds of injuries, including 11 people in cardiac arrest.

The more we know about the crowd size and security staffing, I'm surprised there hasn't been more scrutiny of NRG park management that signed off on all this. They have years of experience and crowd data to draw on for NRG events. I've seen it reported that NRG made a last-minute request of the event organizers to add additional security, which led to a bunch of untrained temp workers at gates. Why was that last minute? NRG Park management should be hands on with security staffing and crowd and traffic management from start to finish.

Once the ticket gates/metal detectors were overrun/bypassed, the entire event has to be postponed or shut down at that point due to the grounds being compromised.
I understand the uppers not wanting to cause a riot at that point by moving everyone back out and rescanning tickets/rescreening everyone (and the end result may have been more injuries), but control of the venue was lost at that point and it was all downhill from there. The rushing of the gates may not have directly caused the fatalities, but had the call been made at that point, things could have been different.
I figured it was a long shot to be able to convict Scott in a criminal court. The fact that a grand jury decided not to even indict him shows that it was a tough case to make. Now for a civil case, him and the organizers could still be looking at being sued out of tons of money.agz win said:
Travis Scott not guilty. Kim Ogg not happy.
Scott's attorney, Kent Schaffer, said in a statement: "My client Travis Scott will not be charged with criminal charges or any wrongdoing for his involvement with AstroWorld festival. Today's decision by the Harris County District Attorney confirms what we have known all along that Travis Scott is not responsible for the AstroWorld tragedy. This is consistent with investigative reporting by numerous media outlets and federal and state government reports that have squarely placed the onus for event safety crises on organizers, operators and contractors not performers. While waiting patiently for the District Attorney's decision to not file charges, Travis Scott has been inaccurately and wrongly singled out, despite stopping the show three separate times and being unaware of the events as they were unfolding. Now that this chapter is closed, we hope for the government efforts to focus on what is most important stopping future heartbreaking tragedies like AstroWorld from ever occurring again."
