Stupid quarantine rules.
One of my kids teachers tested positive on the 4th. We weren't told about it until 11th and the kids were in class through today.
Health Department finally gets around to calling and so we have to quarantine for 14 days. Not from today, but from the 4th...
Just stupid.
why such a negative response to honored duty of glorious contract tracing, comrade? Get with the program and tell your Ministry of Love providers with whom you've been associating, eh?Keegan99 said:
Contact tracing a widespread seasonal respiratory virus is government doing something for the sheer sake of doing something. It's an expensive effort with no measurable impact.

Not just stupid, but absolutely useless and ineffective when it comes to "stopping the spread".
If the exposure was on the 4th, and you weren't told about it until the 11th, that's 7 days your family could have hypothetically been out spreading the virus.
What's the point of doing "contact tracing" if the contacts aren't notified in a timely manner? I'm sure the Health Dept is overwhelmed right now, but we've been dealing with this for how many months now?
I'm so over hearing "do your part" when the health officials can't even get their act together enough to enable us to "do our part".
And the most recent solution is to ban anyone - including American citizens - from entering the country without a negative test.
You've. Got. To. Be. Kidding. Me.
it's much more streamlined.chimpanzee said:Beats North Korea, I think their C19 therapy protocol involves a bucket of concrete, rope and a deep river.third coast.. said:a 65 year old woman just got 5 months in jail here in singapore for lying to a contract tracer.Ocean Of Funk said:why such a negative response to honored duty of glorious contract tracing, comrade? It's still increasing, to be sure, but not at the rate it was in the summer, and not consistently day over day. It looked better before today's update, dammit.wessimo said:
Hospitalization curve isn't particularly flat. I mean, it does kind of look like a straight line but it is angled in an upwards direction.

I wouldn't do it.
So by next Thursday morning it will be magically gone?BohunkAg said:
Anecdotally, through, uh, someone I know, it's slowing a bit over the past couple days...at least where we are. It might be that the people that are going to get it have gotten it at this point and the vaccines might be hitting others.......
