More teachers/bodies in the building than necessary to teach in person students increases the chances that it all unravels and we end up back at home in November.cone said:

Abbott's press conferences are a giant ass whip.gougler08 said:
My guess is that Abbott says the masks are working to make our metrics better and we have to stay vigilant. Maybe open up things to 75% and this will take him an hour to get to the actual point of the press conference
Except that's not what's happening in a lot of other places with almost 100% in person studentsTimber08 said:More teachers/bodies in the building than necessary to teach in person students increases the chances that it all unravels and we end up back at home in November.cone said:

I'm not arguing against that. I also don't set the risk tolerance of HISD leadership which just closed 10 facilities due to coronavirus cases. They are showing it won't take much to pull that lever.BohunkAg said:Except that's not what's happening in a lot of other places with almost 100% in person studentsTimber08 said:More teachers/bodies in the building than necessary to teach in person students increases the chances that it all unravels and we end up back at home in November.cone said:

What we measure as significant/important is completely irrelevant.Mikeyshooter said:Yeah, give it 2 weeks and the whole house of cards comes tumbling down!!Timber08 said:More teachers/bodies in the building than necessary to teach in person students increases the chances that it all unravels and we end up back at home in November.cone said:

SBISD has been in person for 2 weeks so far. Total cases including staff and students is up to 15! They need to think about grandma and grandpa and shut this thing down soon!
My kindergartner is still scheduled for 10/19. Luckily she's a Teams ace and barely needs any help from her proctor grandmothers and can get on the right Teams calls with help from iPad alarms.RustyBV said:
So is HISD for sure offering in-person starting Oct 19, or is that still undecided?

Meanwhile, Nashville authorities have been caught conspiring to hide data in order to keep bars closed.

At this point, what else do you have to lose as a bar owner? Just throw the fine in with the other liabilities and declare bankruptcy with the other 60% of restaurants that are closing.Panama Red said:
Bars are essentially open now with creative accounting and cooking the books with fake food purchases. (Thumbs down for making them do this)
