Yeah, even the lots in SV are being listed for insane amounts. I don't think they'll get what they're asking and this will all even out soon. My builder had one realtor with a high lot listing come back to ask at what level he'd care since the lot was still sitting there.

Its been a strong market, though. My friends just listed their house yesterday at a fair price and I'm willing to bet they get multiple offers over asking.

Walking distance to The Boozenasium. I went back Saturday for the first time in a few years and it hasn't changed.

I was off Bunker Hill & Westview so a little drive a ways from there but my kid played soccer at St Marks Lutheran. Seems like a nice area.

We have some changes coming up to our little bar on Longpoint. Not to worry, we'll still be here to serve the neighborhood as a local watering hole just as Mickey's Lounge, Robbie's Lounge, and the Might as Well Lounge have done since the 60's.
After 4ish years at the helm, Erik and Jill will be handing off Captain's duties to Russell and Elizabeth, proprietors of the excellent and well regarded bar Lei Low in the Heights. We (Jill and Erik) love what Might as Well has become over these past years. We've had some fun times and met some really wonderful people. While stepping back from something you love is never easy, we are thrilled to be putting the bar in the hands of some very cool and capable people. Some things stay the same and one of those will be that the staff you know and love will remain on board. We (the bar) are going to close for a brief period to give the space a little refresh but we should be back underway sailing the boozy seas in just a few weeks and we can't wait to welcome you back aboard.
As for this week, we'll be doing the Might as Well thing through Friday night and closing up shop on Saturday to begin working on the exciting new things to come. Come on by and tip a glass with us before we make a few changes and stay tuned to this spot for more details. And don't let a Loose Cannon catch you off guard!

Any of you know (or have heard) which Spring Branch elementary schools may be accepting transfers next school year? We are currently zoned to Housman and have a kid going in to kindergarten next year. Will have to go private if we can't get a transfer somewhere.

Yeah, there's about half a dozen people now established at Hammerly and Gessner.

I remember when that corner was only the older man who wore his heavy coat all year. It's been several years since I have been by there though. We got out when the flooding kept creeping closer and closer to our house near Hammerly/Moorberry

I think his name is Dave, he's still around. People on Nextdoor talk about trying to help him every now and then but he's been around as long as I can remember

There is a newish place at Bingle and Longpoint called Kolache King. I really enjoyed the boudin and Korean beef.

I went there the other day, not bad. Check out Angies Munchies too, it's at the end of the strip center at Hammerly / Gessner by the crap Kroger. It was a bit pricy but on point.

I went to Low Tide and was underwhelmed. The Gumbo was good, but small portions for the price. The Shrimp and Fish was nothing to write home about. I'd go to Mambo or Connies and get a better meal for less money. I'll give it another chance, but the building it's in is cursed anyway - all the places there end up being crap and closing

I see everyone talking about how great Low Tide is, but I found it pretty underwhelming. Paid for some frozen shimps that they fried, a tiny serving of gumbo. Mambo has substantially better food for lower prices. Not sure I'm getting all the love for Low Tide.

I didn't see it posted on here, but we recently found out that The Branch closed in August. That was a bummer, really liked that place and the owner is a great guy. I see that he is having some major health issues and the debts just piled up on him.

Any old Spring Branch ISD students from the mid to late 80's on here? Any that knew the music teacher Edina Welsh? She was a family friend and passing on the news that she passed away on Saturday.

She married a guy who played football for A&M in the 80's. Pat Sauer. RIP.

Looks to be the development at the Westview and Witte. Pretty excited as it's very close to me. End of article makes it sound like Christine Ha will gave a couple restaurants in the same development

I've been watching the development of that area... I like the direction its heading. I wonder how many spaces they plan to utilize there

I believe Ha's two places are going into the same shopping center as Fege's. There's already a temporary sign up for one of them on the corner space opposite Fege's.
