Number two is more visually interesting to me

I like number 2 as well, and I love my CW Trident, so I'm fully on board with this.

I would only get number 1 if you don't plan on ever getting the original (Rolex)

Tough call. 1 looks nicer, but 2 has the spinny bezel, which is fun.

I'd go with the 2. I think that one is pretty sharp

I forgot to put an exclusion in the time only category, which has led to a couple of you doubling up on dive watches (speaks to their popularity).

Your biggest cheat is the fact that you have two Rolexes. That's literally the main rule and point of the game.

You cheated too, two Glashutte. Great brand, but interesting that that's the one you double up on.

Beautiful and comfortably eccentric collection though.

Yes, under $2K to my knowledge your options are the CW, the Seiko Presage, and the Zodiac Super Sea Wolf. I have no experience with any of them.

Threw on the auto that started my watch journey this morning.

Love ya, Farmer...

I really like the look of the Baltic Aquascape.

https://baltic-watches.com/en/products/aquascaphe-gmt-green

I recently picked up a Longines Conquest GMT off of Chrono24. You can get one for right at $1,000 shipper as long as you're willing to wait for it to get here from Japan.

I like that look as well.

Longines Conquest V.H.P. GMT
Bulova Wilton GMT
Baume & Mercier Clifton Dual Time GMT
Monta Atlas GMT
Seiko 5 GMT

I personally like the Christopher Ward C63 Sealander. My most desired watch is a Rolex 216570/226570 but I'm thinking of picking up a CW in the interim until I buy a Rolex from an AD.

I guess I did cheat. Yeah, I'm kind of obsessed with Glashutte right now. That Senator is my grail watch and I'm thinking hard about pulling trigger on the Seventies Panorama.

It was the runner up for me.

Time Only (No Date): Glashutte Sixties Annual Edition
Dive: Patek Philippe Aquanaut 5168G (120M water resistance qualifies here right?)
Field or Pilot: Breitling Navitimer 41 (not really my category here)
Chronograph: Omega Speedmaster 105.012 (accomplished)
High Complication: Vacheron Constantin Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra Thin Skeleton
Free Space: AP Royal Oak Jumbo Extra Thin 50th Anniversary

Looking that list over it feels like I'm going to need to win the next big Powerball

Without putting too much thought into it.

Time Only (No Date) - A Lange Saxonia
Dive - Rolex Submariner "Hulk"
Field or Pilot - Any of the "Dirty Dozen" from WW2, to avoid duplicate brands, I will say IWC
Chronograph - 1965 Speedmaster Professional Watch (ST105.012)
High Complication - JLC Master Ultra Thin Tourbillion Moon
Free Space - Petek Nautilus (Tif?) (very hard not to put AP RO Extra Thin)

Wow, so far 75% of the responses have the Speedy as their chronograph (well, if you count the one preference for the plastic version...). No Daytonas. Wouldn't have guessed that.

(Also I'm realizing there's more of y'all who duplicated brands. I really figured Aggie reading comprehension would be a bit better than this.)

From a value perspective we should all choose the Daytona.

But I love the look of the Speedy, and it seems like more of a watch nerd piece.

You could create an entire list of Rolexes just based on hype and secondary market price but I chose the Explorer because it's the least hyped and if it's good enough for Roger W Smith then it's good enough for my list.

Why does that matter? Isn't this supposed to be our list, not the most expensive list?

I'm in agreement with you, which is why I didn't choose the Daytona.

For a value chronograph, I'd strongly consider the Bulova Lunar Pilot.

Alright guys, we need a topic in here so that I have a reason to check TexAgs. Lets go - here's the game:

You get to build a hypothetical watch collection, use whatever budget you want. You can use your realistic budget, a goal budget, or just blow it out and use Sea Speed's budget. You have to fill each one of the below categories, but you cannot duplicate brands.

Time Only (No Date)
Dive
Field or Pilot
Chronograph
High Complication (tourbillion, moon phase, perpetual/annual calendar, minute repeater, etc.)
Free Space (cannot be a watch that would fit into one of the previous categories, other than Time Only)

Cartier extra flat wg
Sinn T1 or iwc porsche design ocean 2000
Patek aquanaut 5168G-010 (wg)
Meh, moonswatch i guess? (All 10)
Jlc moonphase ultra thin
Jlc polaris

I don't follow instructions well either. Change my polaris to UN lesbian mermaids

Time Only Grand Seiko SBGY007

Wouldn't actually choose this watch, but I do want a Spring Drive and this was the easiest place to fit it into these paramaters.

Dive Omega Seamaster Professional Diver 300m

Have

Field or Pilot Rolex GMT Master II

Grail

Chronograph Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Self Winding Chronograph

Unrealistic

High Complication Vacheron Constantin Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin

Ridiculously unrealistic

Free Space Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso Classic Duoface Small Seconds

Currently stashing cash for it. Whether I actually wind up throwing down on it remains to be seen...
