Going to buy my first Rolex datejust with my xmas bonus. may go 41 or 36 not sure yet.

Who are the reputable dealers now in Houston? or should i just blow it on a new one in the galleria mall?

I'd go with a 41. Haven't bought one from Houston but have a reputable dealer a few hours away that I deal with if you would like an introduction. I am going to go by there next week and can let you know what they have. If it's not in the case, it typically takes about 6 weeks to get (from my experience last year).

Try them on and see what you think. Until relatively recently, Rolex Oysters were in the 34-36 range. They have slowly been moving up in size to conform with current trends.

Yeah. I have a vintage Rolex that is 34mm and it feels way different from my daily diver 45mm, but it looks good.

Buy an absolute massive number of watches from them to where you're their best customer and they call you when they get allocated one.

The story I heard about a guy who got a nautilus at retail went to the jewelry store and gave them 500k for his "account" so he could just go in and get jewelry at his leisure. They would just deduct what he would get from his account.

Crazy sounding I know.. I think it's the world we live in unfortunately. I think someday, just like every industry, the watch industry will take a dive, and that will be the time to buy.

I've actually sold a few of my watches thinking that time is coming near. Hoping to rebuy back when the market crashes.

thats what i thought about TSLA and if only i would have bought when i first had that thought id probably be able to afford a couple of the higher end Pateks right about now.
