I have a 36 with the black dial. That silver dial is even better than the blue and every bit as good as the black. Great choice!

My goal was something that could be worn to HEB or a wedding. I think this fits the bill nicely. I really wanted a white date just w/ stick markers, jubilee band, fluted bezel, and roulette date wheel. They don't make anymore

Very nice. The reverso gets the win for me (in the square/rectangle category), but can't go wrong there. If there was one thing about it I don't like, it's the jewelled crown. A little too "fancy".

Tudor vs tag: I got into a debate over whether tag or Tudor was superior. Fwiw he has a 1200 tag w\ quartz movement. I think I clearly got the better deal

Yeah, it's not a question at all. Tag IMO is in the Oris/Longines realm, and both of them make better watches than Tag. Tudor is quite a step above. Perhaps a more equal comparison would be an Omega or Breitling. I'd class those in the same territory before jumping up a step.

This board's fascination with Tudor is strange to me. They mostly look like generic copycats from what I've seen.

If they weren't connected to Rolex, I doubt many would give them a second look.

It's highly dependent on the individual watch.

If we're just ranking those7 I would have Rolex 1, Tudor 2, and the rest all close together. I particularly don't care for Breitling.

i agree. Bell and Ross has an aesthetic that i really enjoy in their round cased watches. i don't care for the square ones so much, but the rest i generally like.

Tudor is doing a great job of re-inventing itself. The idea of a Rolex case with a generic movement doesn't work when others have improved their case quality, too. Now it is moving to be the adventurous side of house while Rolex makes incremental changes to its rather stable lineup.

Most would agree that Rolex and Omega are neck and neck as far as quality (many would put Omega ahead)
After that, for me , it would be ..
Tudor

Breitling (with a few models close behind such as the B01 chronographs while other models like quartz Colts etc. moving quite far down the list)

Sinn
Oris
Hamilton
Longines
Tag
To name a few.. many many other watch brands could intermingle this list . Including positioning themselves above Rolex

But even that "ranking" isn't fair because amongst brands, watch quality and build is greatly varying amongst their models

Everyone has their opinions. Some expressed with more class than others. I have Rolexes, Omega, and a Tudor. The Rolex is highest quality of the three in my opinion. I like the Tudor because it's a 58, good quality and a vintage feel on my small wrist.

I dont chime in much but would bet 1mm I have greater watch/horology knowledge than 99% of this board and I will say Marauder you dont know your ass from a hole in the ground. Especially in the past 3-4 years, Tudor has stepped up their game big time. The above ground pool statement may have been relevant circa 1999.

The only Tudor I currently own is the BB Bronze, but it is one solid watch.
