Just got my Speedmaster Professional today. Awesome watch! Was able to use the chronograph to measure how long it takes to bang my wrist against the door jamb and scuff the acrylic crystal. 4 minutes and 11 seconds!

I at least waited about a week to scratch the steel bezel on my Tudor.

Love that GMT. A guy in my office sold his 116710LN for a steal right after I bought my 114060.
I'd have preferred the GMT.

Has anyone successfully bought a nice watch used on Craigslist? curious how that went. I've seen videos of very convincing fakes so how does one avoid being victimized? Take it to a jewelry appraiser?

yep...I bought one of TexAgs and we met at Hal Martin. Took about 5-10 minutes.

I would imagine you'll flush out most of the scammers just by suggesting that step.

I want to give a massive big up to Maurice Lacroix, who has been on my radar for a while but have never pulled the trigger. Came across one of their AD's promotional for $750 off what was already a decent price for a low level lux chrono, and pulled the trigger.

Build quality is between Tag and Omega, and far superior to the Oris, Baume, Longines tier they typically play in. Bracelet quality is superior to Breitling and close to Omega and very close to Rolex (whom I place slightly below omega on bracelets but higher overall). Quick change system makes it easy to flip between leather and steel. Super impressed, lotta watch for $2k

I just put a pre-order in on the Marnaut Seascape 200C. I was looking for a cheap dive watch I could travel with and like this dude's design.

I tried the SKX007 but the power reserve wasn't great. It's a pain to change the time AND date on an automatic that's not my primary/daily so I also like that the Marnaut doesn't have a date. We'll see... supposed to ship in June

Agreed. If I didn't already have the Glashutte Senator Sixties, the Speedy Pro, and the Seamaster to prove my barely minimum status and standing to the world, I wouldn't dare post such a pedestrian piece...
