I think that's a great-looking watch.

I had Hal Martin's work on my super vintage Omega also and the did a great job. They were also pretty quick to get it back to me. Also, when I picked it up, JD Clowney was in there buying a watch for his mama.

so what is the scoop with the DavidSW discussed early on? I don't see that his discount is all that great from what's posted on his web site. Maybe 7% on the Rolex I posted above.

I went and looked today and kind of found 4 I really liked;

Rolex Oyster Perpetual 39mm (pic above)
Tag Heuer Link with 41mm dial dial
(dial was dark blue though...)

Rolex is going to be a hard sell to the wife though!

The bracelet on that first one turns me off.
The second one is a little bland for my taste. Nothing on that watch worth paying almost $2k for.
I've never thought about a b&m so know nothing about the brand, the movement, or the history.

For me, there's a big gulf/gap in the watch market where you're at. If I'm not willing to spend the money on Omega or more then I'll just find a Seiko that matches my needs.

But again, there's a reason they make 31 flavors. If you like any of those watches then buy and wear it proudly.

Nice Omega but I'd probably go with the Rolex OP. Don't believe people if they say the OP is an entry level Rolex as there is no entry level Rolex as they are all built to the same standards. OP is a perfect watch for casual, work, or formal.

I've got this one. Obviously the Rolex OP is a classic you could never go wrong with. I'm a huge omega fan, though. Great value. I'd sell this one for $1500 (edit: sold)

Ended up getting a good deal from https://davidsw.com/ on the Tag Link. Always liked the look of them and always wanted one. Did look at Omega and was surprised how much I liked the moon watch (and how well if fit my little girl wrists!) but in the end decided budget wasn't there. Also decided to get new instead of used for my first one so I got the Tag



Now that I have the bug, this probably won't be my last purchase.... 00

So i discovered yesterday that Seiko makes a Prospex titanium case diver (sbdc029), and then that Spinnaker makes a titanium case diver too (sp-5061), but the spinnaker is a couple hundo less and it has a domed sapphire crystal. Love the look of both. Opinions on these?

which movement did you end up with? Apparently, it's not the same for all Calibre 5s.

Also, if you love the moon watch but not the price, go with a reduced.

39mm to fit your smaller wrist vs the 42 and it's half the price

Seiko Shogun is nice but I'd prefer the Steinhart Ocean Titanium 500 Premium over the Spinnaker if I was looking for titanium diver alternative.

new watch showed up today. Kind of excited to wear it once I adjust the bracelet.

It was obviously stopped when it arrived. It has a screw in crown. I unscrewed it, and wound it manually to get it started. Pulled it out on click to set the date, then a second click to set the time.

I pushed the crown all the way back in but I can't seem to get the crown to tighten. It just spins (like I'm winding the watch). I get some resistance after a few turns so I've stopped screwing with it b/c I don't want to over wind the crown. But it should in fact screw tight ? It says in the instructions you have to screw the crown back in to maintain water resistance. I can just pull the crown out/in clicks which I should not be able to do if it's screwed down properly, right?
