Sorry to derail but does anyone have experience with a Zenith Chronomaster Sport or Defy Skyline? I've been thinking about a Zenith purchase for a few years and these are two models I like. Hope they don't seem like too much of a copy of other highly popular watches.
I have no experience. with either (never heard of Defy Skyline), but since no one else is commenting, I'll throw something out there (which you probably already know).
Zenith was one of the very first watchmakers to produce an automatic chronograph movement. I believe it was Zenith and then a collab from three other brands that came out about the same time. And I'm pretty sure Rolex actually used the Zenith movement in their Daytona for several years. So there is certainly a high level of history there that gives the Zenith cache. You certainly can't call it a copy. I can't speak to the aesthetic design similarities between the Daytona and Chronomaster and who might have started what first.
Watch nerds are going to appreciate the Zenith. It might get confused for a Daytona from far away, but not up close and even if they did it's a conversation starter on a good watch. I love the way their chronograph hand flies around the dial. The only thing I don't like (wish I did, or I'd probably consider one of these closer) is the multi-colored sub-dials. But obviously lots of people love that.
