Need to get my watch serviced and battery replaced. Movado only has a few authorized service locations and I don't see any in Houston. Since I don't want to mail it in, does anyone have a preferred place they trust for a full servicing? Curious what that would cost as well.
Most malls have kiosks that do this. I recommend PlazAmericas.

Hey guys I have an interesting proposition.

Anyone want to give me an offer on this watch? Good game day watch and flex. Full disclosure I don't have it in hand, one of my buddies is asking if I'd help him sell it to an end user because it's sensitive. Brand new 2022.

Let me know if there is any interest

Sorry to derail but does anyone have experience with a Zenith Chronomaster Sport or Defy Skyline? I've been thinking about a Zenith purchase for a few years and these are two models I like. Hope they don't seem like too much of a copy of other highly popular watches.

I bought an ice cream for my kids from the ice cream truck at the beach today and the ice cream man started going on about the issues getting a rolex when he noticed mine. not exactly the conversation i anticipated while buying fudge popsicles.

I have no experience. with either (never heard of Defy Skyline), but since no one else is commenting, I'll throw something out there (which you probably already know).

Zenith was one of the very first watchmakers to produce an automatic chronograph movement. I believe it was Zenith and then a collab from three other brands that came out about the same time. And I'm pretty sure Rolex actually used the Zenith movement in their Daytona for several years. So there is certainly a high level of history there that gives the Zenith cache. You certainly can't call it a copy. I can't speak to the aesthetic design similarities between the Daytona and Chronomaster and who might have started what first.

Watch nerds are going to appreciate the Zenith. It might get confused for a Daytona from far away, but not up close and even if they did it's a conversation starter on a good watch. I love the way their chronograph hand flies around the dial. The only thing I don't like (wish I did, or I'd probably consider one of these closer) is the multi-colored sub-dials. But obviously lots of people love that.

Welp, I don't think I can hang on to this one. I love it but the finances just aren't responsible, especially when I'm so happy with my DateJust that is only a few months old. Let me know if anyone is interested, not trying to make anything off it.

I was about to pull the trigger on a Yaht Master for my birthday but just got my home's tax value. Looks like I will be selling a watch next month instead of buying one. Thanks, Biden!

Very single at the moment, so definitely not it. Might be making some professional moves and more liquidity is better than less.

That looks cool but with the hands being the same color as everything else it's almost impossible to read the time.

Thanks for the response. Very aware of Zenith's history just don't know if I want to spend close to $10K on either of these at the moment. The Chronomaster Sport is a beauty but it quite thick while the Defy Skyline might be a bit too out there for me to wear on a somewhat regular rotation. I was hoping someone here might have experience with one of these two watches. Always appreciate the discussion on this thread!

Which movement? Some can be hard to find shops that will service them.

You should be able to get some Longines HydroConquest models for that.

Of course any number of Seikos.

They aren't fancy but Steinhart has a number of good divers for $500ish. Quite a few are knockoff *ahem* "homage" Rolex's but some are more unique.

Christopher Ward - micro brand with good quality stuff
Squale - older brand that was kind of rebooted with a good history

Those are nice except the Christopher Ward logo right in the middle of the watch

I love the look of the Oris Sixty Five although (a) it's a little above that price range and (b) doesn't have the true diving capability of a Seiko and others, if that's what you'd use it for.
