I need to get a "toll tag" for the toll roads and have been to the North Texas Tollway website, which issues the TollTag, but it does not seem to include the new 121 toll way. The 121 toll way seems to be governed by Texas Tollways and they issue the TxTag.

Will either one of these tags work on all the toll roads? Which one is the best to get?

I've heard that the toll lanes on 121 read your license plate, so if you have a tolltag you're already in the system.

Toll Tag is able to be used on any toll road in the state (i.e Houston, etc.)

Are you sure about the whole state? My understanding is that the toll tag issued by the NTTA is valid for the NTTA tollways (GWBush & NDallas), 121 tollway (TxDOT), and DFW airport, as well as read by the EZPass system in Houston. I'm not sure about the rest of the state, though.

121 does not use tags of any kind.

I was told that the tags from dallas do not work in houston, but houston's EzTags work in dallas everywhere except DFW

I use mine in Houston all the time.

I was told by a toll worker they work on the other toll roads in Texas, but the only other one I can recall at the time is in Laredo, which I have never driven. Not sure about the new one in Ausin either.

121 does read tags...that's what the metal structures with all the bright lights shining on the road are for. It's just like the TollTag lanes on the other NTTA roads. If you do not have a tag, it will bill you by your license plate number. It is an NTTA road, and TollTags work just as well as TxTags.

I have a TxTag and it does not work at the airports. It does work on all other toll roads.
