I disagree; making that call 12 hours in advance does seem absurd. But it's typical American Airlines procedure. I would have preferred a delay, even an all day delay. Over a flat out cancellation and an offer to get a flight on Monday evening. It's fine, I'm driving straight to my next destination instead of getting to spend a night at home. Hopefully my flight home on Thursday won't have any problems.

There has been over 70 diversions for DFW. If anything AA didn't cancel enough

Significant event on Tues/Wed?

It is such a wide area in the slight risk area - thinking this one is grabbing some hype because it is early spring. The tornado / large hail threat looks to be right at early storm development which should be more west / southwest of the metro.

Edit: Storm Prediction Center just updated their map to show the enhanced area I was referencing. For reference, the edge of the higher risk corridor includes the following counties: Parker, Hood, Wise (mostly), & Johnson (slightly)

Updated for new map. Looks like the western half of Tarrant is now included in the enhanced risk.

As a reminder, hail/wind are the most likely (especially in the enhanced zones). The overall tornado risk is quite low, but it there for all of the metroplex.

Current wx models show the line starting to move in to the western metroplex around 8/9ish. Now depending on what direction you're coming from, impacts could start earlier as the western arrivals into DFW/Love typically get blocked off first.

Looks like we narrowly missed one camping in broken bow.

Got nearly an inch of rain last night and started storming when I went to bed. Haven't fallen asleep to storms in a long time.
