Cap is holding things together. It's so muggy and warm that if the cap moves, we are going to get smoked.

Don't sleep on threat for this afternoon - storms could fire pretty much overhead the metro area by 2-3 pm. Big hail a threat again.
I've seen nothing and see nothing coming on radar. Seems like a dud after all the buildup
Hopefully it is a dud. Looks like a second line may develop in the 1-2 hours.

What's with the face? I had literally just opened up Twitter, saw the NBC5 meteorologists replying to several tweets asking about a cap and then saw your reply to this thread.

In the clear now? I have nothing other than the typical weather.com which says basically nothing but sun or clouds (Frisco). The radar shows the storms all Tyler and eastward.

There is only one response this non-meteorologist has:

At least, there wasn't the usual mad rush home from the office of people panicking.

Was this expected?

Think the biggest concern is if something gets going out ahead of the line sort of up towards Decatur, Graham or near that area. Anything out there by itself will be a problem.
Saw an earlier unconfirmed report but now see it was 2in diameter confirmed in Blue Mound. Not far off. As far as the last question regarding later today, just see how these things organize as they approach. Of course with the conditions outside there will be a risk of high winds and some hail but its the individual storms that are more likely to be a problem. Its those type of storms that pose the biggest hail and wind threats (and tornadoes)Deats said:
